FreeStuffsNG: 16. He currently works as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
What is Boston Consulting Group (BCG)? Boston Consulting Group, Inc. (BCG) is an American global management consulting firm founded in 1963 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. BCG is one of the Big Three (or MBB, the world's three largest management consulting firms by revenue) along with McKinsey & Company and Bain & Company.
He spent just 5 years of his life on intense hardwork, dedication and self discipline while studying at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to set a record that opens doors for him for all the rest of his life!
It's worth it after all. If you are extremely gifted & brilliant and you know what is best for you, choose UNILAG, ensure you work very hard to meet the high standards of ission requirements of UNILAG like making complete O'level result at once in a single sitting, compulsory minimum of credit O'level in further maths and high UTME JAMB score, study very hard to the Post UTME and seal your ission. While at UNILAG, ditch social media, keep great company and study like kilode till you finish with great grades then you are made for the rest of your life niyen!
The UNILAG brand behind your attainment will immediately push you on the global stage!
Just before his NYSC, he is already made for life with prestigious scholarships, published
book to his name and being sought after by global brands for job placement.

Apples to oranges. Those who sponsor BBN do so for commercial purposes. David has been rewarded for his academic excellence by working for an elite company and garnering three scholarships.

The most interesting fact here is that he graduated from the international School, university of Ibadan.
My alma mater.
That's to me still the best secondary school in the history of this country. Quote me if u like, even this guy can't stand toe to toe with his former seniors like bosun adeoti and his colleagues.
Hasty generalisation. Besides, David just started his journey. No one knows where he will be in a decade's time.
For the records, I ISI was once ranked 3rd best secondary school in the country back then.
Students that year ehn.
Dem dey break records for SAT exams.
I bosun came out tops in the world in SAT 2
Impressive. Bosun studied at MIT for both his BSc and MSc. He has been working at Google for more than a decade. He must be exceptionally brilliant. https://www.linkedin.com/in/bosun-adeoti-1757545/

His father is a professor in the same department where he got 5.0 and lectured him in four of his Courses.
It's alright. I laugh in man know man.
Was the father also influential in him acing his other courses? Did the father also teach Ayodele Dada who was the first 5.0 grad from the same Unilag? Was the father a lecturer to the Law grad from LASU with the same grade? What about the girl from Cell Biology who had a similar grade?
Children whose parents are/were professors or even teachers tend to pick up traits (nature vs nuture) while growing up. As a result, they perform excellently in school. David is just the norm, not the exception. In fact, most top grads from elite universities in the US had/have academics as parents.

I am not saying he is not naturally brilliant.
But his father being a professor and his lecturer in the same department would have played a huge part in his CGPA, especially in this corruption ridden Nigeria.
He may not even have gotten a first class in a different university.
Total nonsense!
He graduated from a top secondary school, did foundation courses in Unilag and aced all his courses brilliantly! I ask again, was the father a lecturer to other 5.0 CGPA grads from the same university? Recently, Deborah from Landmark University graduated with the same 5.0 CGPA in Mechanical Engineering. Did David's father teach her too?
Most of you people talk stoopidly and foolishly. This guy performed excellently across all levels and currently works in an elite firm. Does his father work at Boston Consulting Group?

He had a lot of undue advantage.
That's a fact, that even he himself would not deny if he is honest.
No parent would not want to give their children an advantage, if it is within their power.
It's not even very ethical for him to gain ission in the same department where his father is a professor but that's a question for saner climes.
That's my own valedictorian.
Go and tell that to Boston Consulting Group.
Bloody retard!

A management consultant at any of the MBBs is an elite job anywhere in the world. McKinsey receives more job applications than Google. It is the holy grail of paid employment. This guy works for a direct competitor and I can recall Ayodele Dada, the first 5.0 grad, was invited to the opening ceremony when BCG opened its Nigerian office.

congrats Engr. All the best in your future endeavors.
By the way OP, you did not mention about his Jamb score. I am interested because there is a debate we once heard about people that score the highest in Jamb are definitely brilliant but there are candidates' more brilliants than them who did not emerge as highest jamb scorer. I have observed with most best graduating students, while their Jamb scores are usually great, they do better overall CGPA than some people that usually have higher Jamb scores than them.
You mean this thread: https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/7763389/top-jamb-scorers-where-today ?
David, just like Ayodele Dada, entered Unilag in 200L. With this, they avoided general courses, which could have hurt their grades trajectories. However, two other graduates from Unilag from Systems Engineering and Cell Biology respectively also had the same grade. The question would be to know if these two persons entered via JAMB. Another missing aspect is David's WASSCE grades. It is important to know that as well. Did he have the most As?

So, if his dream is to Unilag, he shouldn't because of his father? Should also risk his safety because of his father?
Also, that there are courses he did outside his department too. Will you say his father also influenced them too?
Don't mind that retard!
I am sure he thinks Ayodele Dada cheated as well in school and even bribed his way into Stanford. There is a growing number of 5.0 graduates, with Unilag having the most numbers - 4. Covenant University has I think 2, and when her sister university Landmark is included, that makes it three.

They have this governing body like that. Can't if they wanted them to have PhDs or they had a new governing council.
But I some of them ended up in one secondary school like around Bodija that that were more than ready to absorb them.

wahala!!!
The only advantage my roomie had is, from primary school he already knew he would study civil engineering too due to his dad's influence so he strictly followed that part that as a secondary school student he had already read almost all the materials he needed from ND1 Till HND. As a secondary school student his dad was already homeschooling him, giving him materials, in fact all the materials are surplus at home, from text books to drawing materials, measurement materials etc.
His dad even bought a desktop computer for him and his elder bro's to learn chart drawing and all those civil engineering drawings.
As a sec schooo student he could map and draw better than most HND students graduates.
Dude got itted to auchi polytechnic and came out with distinction without breaking a sweat, dude normally tells me every class is just like a revision to him.
It is why I called him a retard!
It is a global phenomenon for children whose parents are academics or even primary school teachers to perform excellently in academics. Most Harvard professors had parents who were also professors. Even Nobel laureates, their children later become academics and some even win prizes. See Milton Friedman. There is nothing wrong with it. Even cancelling out nature because of genetics, nurture because of environment confers that advantage to such children.
The retard has been lamenting that David's dad influenced his grades. But ask him if David's dad also influenced the 5.0 grad from Systems Engineering? Did David's father, a professor of Civil Engineering, teach Ayodele Dada, a 5.0 graduate of Psychology? What course did the girl who had 5.0 in Cell Biology learn from David's dad?
See why I said he is a retard?!

And highest in Waec.
In fact for Waec they had to remark bosun papers and another guy from another school at the behest of our principal then.
If I recall he scored 349 in jamb back then. And we all knew the story back then. He deliberately didn't want to score too high.
Guy. Bosun came second in SAT 1
And first in SAT 2.
Before heading off to MIT after tonnes of scholarships he beat everyone in unilag in engineering in his first semester....
Oya counter me
Bosun was my set in Unilag. He had all A'S and 1B while two guys in his dpt(Chemical Engr) had all A'S.

Not hasty.
U know jamb of the late 90s to early 2000s was no joke.
Bosun broke and heald the record for many years.
Also had best Waec result
Won the national essay competition that year too.
Then his first semester at OAU? UNILAG( CAN'T WHICH) he had the best results.
Then wrote SAT and was 2nd in the world.
Then wrote SAT 2 and was first in the world.
Got scholarships, went to MIT and was 2nd best student there.
Thats why I said this guy can't stand toe to toe with bosun. All the achievements I mentioned are all secondary school feats.
If we're talking about the future, ofcos David can show the world better achievements.
But pre university things? Bosun stands .
By the way bosun was beating his classmates with 0.5,1 or 2 marks. If bosun came tops on let's say maths with 99 marks over 100, there will be about 3 people scoring 98.5, another 3 scoring 97 etc.
Crazy set. Because of him ISI introduced 2nd and 3rd place prizes.
