Wemoveee:Yes, may God help us. My younger cousin was discouraged from applying to banks after graduating with a 2.1 at a young age, despite her academic excellence. After getting married, she eventually ended up in a local microfinance paying below 50k. When I was home this festive period, I asked her if she now works in a bank, and she responded, "Na bank I dey work now." It's truly disheartening to witness a young person's potential hampered due to a lack of proper information. 5 Likes |

Aleksandra:LMAO. I'm no government worker though, but if you people find 350k so hard to believe, what if I told you someone's earning at least 4.8m monthly working remotely for a foreign organization as a young person? ![]() Some people would consider 350k their own struggle money. I won't mention mine though although I'm by no means rich and some people know me on Nairaland. ![]() |

Wemoveee:Please get the f*ck out, Mr. Proud Under sabi. If you aren't dumb you'd know people actively seek out opportunities even when they earn relatively well. My cousin has worked with a good number of the international NGOs in this country as a consultant or documentary photographer and he tells us he's always applying for things despite that relative success. You undersabi people think 350k is enough to be content and stop seeking new opportunities. 1 Like |

ParamilitaryII:Don't mind that guy who is seeing 350k as a big deal. He even said you need 6+ years of experience to earn that much lol when many junior staffs earn more than that in most private firms. Where I work, corpers are paid 107k. Ordinary corpers. There are so many companies out there that pay good money. One thousand and one of them. 1 Like |

samsard:You nailed it. It's so pathetic. Like 350k is so much of a big deal. I was actually irritated when they insulted that guy for complaining over his 130k salary. What is 130k? I don't think most of these guys live in lagos. 2 Likes |

I know people earning 1.5M above and are still reg. Infact they are always broke. Of course I expect peeps on this thread to call them crazy for reg from a job they'll prefer to remain in all their life. If you see 350k as so much of a salary to be contempted with then you're on a long thing and you really need to wake up. Enough of all these people are earning less than 100k and are still surviving comparisons. Why should you be comparing yourself to them? Why not compare yourself to those earning 700k and above. If you don't change this mindset then you might just remain wretched. Someone who has no job will likely see a 130k salary as a big deal. When he starts earning that amount, he'll understand better. Someone earning 130k salary likely see 350k salary as a big deal. When he starts earning 350, he will realise its nothing. 350k earner will see 700k as a big deal and so on.

I DONT KNOW WHATS THE FUSS ABOUT ALL THESE UNNECESSARY ARGUMENTS. THERE IS NO SALARY THAT IS TOO BIG AND THERE IS NO SALARY THAT IS TOO SMALL. IT ALL DEPENDS ON LIFESTYLE OF THE INDIVIDUAL. SOME EARN 30K AND THEY ARE CONTENTED WITH IT. SOME EARN MILLIONS PER WEEK AND IS NEVER ENOUGH. SO IS ALL ABOUT YOUR LIFESTYLE.

It's alright. "ya dรฌ bรก". Argument isn't that 350k is too small, but the fact that only some fortunate few earn such amount. For instance, if you add up these fortunate earners they still won't match up to one quarter of teachers in a state, or even LGA employees then to talk of the unemployed and other underemployed citizens. 350k is too BIG and small for some. However saying such here is like a mother of three complaining to a barren woman how her husband keeps telling her that he wants about two more children. What do you expect the barren to say? And you're saying suicidal thoughts can come in๐ damn! That's insulting, inciting and provocative. Fact that a thousand are working in banks and these other top firms doesn't mean millions aren't working as teachers, ministry workers and other low firms. Don't come here to rant how much this and that are earning, lets be objective please. 10 Likes |

She barely comes here to post. Only these ones that know someone that knows someone that they truly never know and are earning millions per day are the ones talking like ranting like portable abi speed darlington๐ 9 Likes |

UrennaNkoli:I'm replying you because you said we insulted that guy. You are proud and rub it off on other people. Yes, I know there are jobs that pay entry level 350k and more but what brought about this argument before you came into it was the guy saying he's contemplating suicide when a lot of people are jobless. If he's not content with that salary he could just have resigned or move to a better organisation like you pointed out in your discussion. Please stop looking down on people because you don't know tomorrow. 10 Likes |

Wemoveee:I come to this section to read posts mostly about vacancies because I don't know when I'll need the information here. I have known this thread since like 2020 & until recently I only commented once or twice & deleted it because the information relates to people who know me by my Nairaland name. Unless you're my personal person you won't have an idea how much I earn. Plus I feed my wife with any useful information here since she won't listen to me and & actively check by herself. I do my business on the Business section. If some of us wanted to brag about high earners, we could brag all day because I do business with some of them & I'm friends/relatives with some, fortunately. I don't depend on anyone even if you're x10 earner, so even mentioning them adds nothing other than context. You can earn above average and be depressed if it can't fund the lifestyle you're used to, even if people think you're okay. 1 Like |
