The Fall of The House of Usher.....9.5/10

This is probably the best TV show of the year. It chronicles the Rise and Fall of the Usher Family and damn chilly adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's work.

The show is a work of art. Superb acting, great storytelling, rich dialogue and smooth poetry that got you thinking. One of the best cinematography I've seen all year round and arguably the best in a TV show this year. Great work with their lighting and even the CGI/makeup. Gripping sound score to drive home the feel and atmosphere of each scene. tier costume design.

Each character had their time to shine and get an understanding of the main faces. Carla Gugino as Verna aka Death, Bruce Kenwood as stonecold Roderick and Mary McDonnell as Madeline with survivor instinct were perfect as the leads of this show.
Zach Gilford and Willa Fitzgerald were superb as young Roderick and Madeline. Kate Siegel and Rahul Kohli also did an impressive job. Special kudos to Mark Hamill as the Pym Reaper.


It's a story of life, cause and effect, consequences, frivolity, depravity, despair, deception, cruelty, vanity, greed, lust, power, envy and the inevitable — Death. It touches on almost all human emotions, dispositions and sins with a unique masterful touch.

The ending perfectly brings to life that Lovecraftian feel of horror Edgar Allan Poe was known for. The feeling of "fear", "despair" and "powerlessness" that you've no control over, because you're at the mercy of a "Higher Power"— in this case, Death! A perfect symbiotic relationship between realism and fantasy. It's a perfect commentary on most facets of life using the Usher Family as a case study.
The finale is basically a rich delivery of Poetic Justice.


It's a show to slowly watch, understand and savour it's themes and deeper meanings. It's as always a thought provoking tale as I have come to expect from a Flanagan TV show. It's a horror TV series, through and through — not just the cliché gore and jumpscares you'd expect as is associated with the genre. This is more of a thought provoking Psychological horror thriller. Or you can call it Lovecraftian horror. And it's an undisputed Masterpiece.


Netflix has struck gold here and cooked an all time great, as I see this show becoming an all time classic in the years to come. It's that good.
This TV show surely rivals Midnight Mass in being the best from Mike Flanagan's body of work. This is the most prestigious work from Flanagan and it sure jostles to be the top dawg and crowning piece of his work.

I watched the first 3 episodes of this series yesterday. It's crazily good lots of blood and gore, I love this.

Omni Man gave off Homelander vibes.

Netflix can't miss with the ATLA adaptation.
There's nothing hard in adapting ATLA as long as the world is developed and it has good visuals.

The source material literally has Western dialogue. Not like One Piece where they had to "Westernize" the dialogue.

ATLA is going to be a good watch. Along side Deadpool 3, these are the only movies I'm anticipating currently for 2024.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 finale.

Wow... incredible direction. Had to watch the episode twice to get it all in.

Fake Geto's dialogue is always kinda hard to understand. Mostly because he's at least a thousand years old so the way he speaks is different.

And Yuta 🔥🔥🔥

But the Jujutsu council are cràzy...they used this chance to take care of Gojo and his students cos of their issues with him.

For those who are wondering, Toge Inumaki lost his arm when Sukuna used his domain expansion.

Btw who else noticed the Neon Genesis Evangelion reference when Yuta was speaking to the Jujutsu council.
It looked like SEELE from Neon Genesis Evangelion



Now I believe Mei Mei made the right choice by absconding from Japan and selling all her shares. Japan and Tokyo especially is fûcked. Fake Geto is bringing back the Heian era to present day.

By having a thousand people act as vessels for ancient cursed spirits and sorcerers...since most people are not like Itadori Yuji, these ancient people will take over their vessels.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2.......10/10


The season was definitely worth the hype.
Both the Hidden Inventory Arc and the Shibuya Incident Arc were 🔥🔥🔥

With an arc so hyped I was expecting it to be disappointing. And at first, the Shibuya arc didn't start that great...but it was a mere buildup.

And when it kicked...it really kicked. Every episode became a bànger...

This season 2 is far better than season 1.

I need to rewatch season 1 tho cos a lot of things there were referenced and it's easy to forget. Especially about the cursed wombs, symbols etc

Some parts of the season were pretty complicated. Several episodes I had to watch twice to get things especially since I had forgotten a lot of season 1.

And the abilities and cursed techniques were super complicated at times too e.g domain amplification...so it took second watches to understand them.

And from what I heard, it will get far more complicated in season 3
