It might have been an oversight from the prospect's part to have asked you, so it's your responsibility as the seller to answer appropriately.

I have referred people to him for gadgets but ended up in embarrassments for these potential customers.

He would block prospects on WhatsApp, sound rudely on the phone, drop the call on customers when they ask vital questions, and even go as far as sharing their numbers with his acquaintances.
