The final two months of the year will bring a wave of completed projects and initiatives that represent our commitment to improving the lives of Lagosians.

Today, I commissioned the Oyingbo Bridge, a significant step in our journey towards completing and opening the Red Line Rail project.

The Oyingbo Bridge is a remarkable T-shaped structure, stretching 717 meters in length. It connects key areas of Lagos, enhancing accessibility and safety.

A big thank you to the Governor of Ekiti state, H.E Biodun Oyebanji, who ed me today in the commissioning.

This bridge links Murtala Muhammed Way to Apapa Road, offering access to Costain, Iganmu Industrial Area, Lagos Badagry Expressway, Herbert Macaulay Way, Third Mainland Bridge, Otto, Carter Bridge, and Ijora.

Not only does the Oyingbo Bridge improve traffic flow, but it also enhances safety by separating vehicular/pedestrian traffic from rail traffic, reducing accidents at railway level crossings.

From infrastructure to education, we're determined to keep Lagos moving forward, and these projects commissioned are just the beginning.

RED LINE: Special Guest of Honour, the Ekiti State Governor @biodunaoyebanji today ed his Lagos State counterpart @jidesanwoolu to officially flag off the Oyingbo over bridge.

The Oyingbo bridge has the following features:

1. The bridge is T-Shaped
2. It is 717 metres in length

This bridge, along with others, including the Yaba over bridge, the Pen Cinema Bridge, Yaba bridge, Mushin bridge, and Ikeja are built for the convenience of engers and other Lagosians as we roll out the Red Line Train in not too distant time.

Ekiti state governor Abiodun Oyebanji has described Lagos as appealing to other states because ‘everybody is interested in the Lagos miracle.’

He spoke when he ed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to open the new Oyingbo Bridge.

The 717m long bridge is part of the five essential infrastructure rail level crossing of the Red Rail Line.

According to him, the projects speak for what is possible when there is a listening leader in charge.

He said: “Lagos has become a model for infrastructure leadership and Ekiti has a lot to learn from Lagos. Everybody is interested in the Lagos miracle, especially because Governor Sanwo-Olu is a mentor to many of us. I will not be tired of returning to commission more projects.

“I urge Lagosians to treasure this path so they can continue to benefit from it. They must guard jealously everything the progressive government has done because it is a testament to the continued progressive istration.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the government is investing so much in transportation infrastructure to commerce and ease movement, ‘especially considering the importance of Oyingbo as a major link between the mainland and the Island’.

He added: “With these over bridges, we are providing a permanent solution to the avoidable fatal accidents often recorded at railway crossings. The siting of these infrastructures in this area is strategic and intentional to achieve a seamless integrated intermodal transport system for the people.

“As the rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge starts, this bridge will provide a lot of relief to motorists. I, therefore, appeal to our motorists to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic and law enforcement officers in order to minimize the inconvenience that will be experienced during the period of rehabilitation.”

Test running of the red rail line will be in Q1 2024.

Never trust the political choices of the ibos. They have no past record of building societies.

Ikeja bridge is also ready for commissioning for the two months. I wonder why he decided not to. He quickly rush to commission ojuelegba and oyingbo simply because of the closer of third mainland bridge.

There should be exchange of seat among Nigeria Governors. Let Sanwoolu come to Ogun State and Dapo to Lagos
