They Cloned Tyrone had strong Truman show vibes. I kept struggling to place the timeline the movie was in. 70s cars, GSM phones, a whole mix of clothing from 70s to 2000s.

I believe it's intentional. Being that they were in a controlled environment and everybody was being monitored.

I prefer Undercover Brother to Black Dynamite, maybe because the former is stupendously funnier than the latter. BD was just too...serious for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed They Cloned Tyrone because despite the ridiculous premise, they were actually preaching a strong message about subliminal conditioning.

Curiosity they say killed the cat😁. After all the initial gra gra, I had to see the movie for myself.

It wasn't great, wasn't bad either. It had some very good laughs also. But if you are seeing the movie because you want to see Jennifer Lawrence run around in her birthday suit, be prepared to be disappointed and have your memory scarred. Let her better go and do bobby surgery.

God is wonderful. Here's my story. In around 98, 99, I followed my mom to her cousins place. When we got there, they watching this movie towards the end. So I ed in. That was the last time I laid my eyes on it. Fast forward years later, guess what, I saw it again on that Indian channel. The moment I saw climax scene, I ed and my mind went down memory lane. I saw filmtricks that swept me off my feet and soundeffects that slammed my ears. I later googled the film. I want to give glory to almighty God for keeping me alive to see this classic. I falsely thought that Ryan Reynolds doesn't star in a bad/poorly made movie until I saw "Green Lantern". I was left hugely dissatisfied and wondering about the fvckery after watching that movie. I'll rate that movie as 2/10.

Anyway that scene in which Ryan Reynolds was iring himself in a mirror-like surface, whistling and doing catwalks is the highlights of that movie sha. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

It's the 2023 live action movie I was reviewing... My bad. I shoulda out the release year since they're different projects. On the said film, I don't consider Hailey Bailey A-List in any ramification.

For animated films with killer cast, well guess they do that to improve the movie's exposure and awareness to the general public.
You know for animated it's the names they're only able to sell since they don't have the luxury of using faces to sell it.

Anyways, you have a point tho, cos for most animated films I rarely even know the actors portraying them or mix them up till I get to the credits and realise who's who. Except for a few actors I'm very familiar with their voice.

My brain must have short circuited when I made the post because like you said no animation in the movie - though there were probably live action characters

I think like you said the whole put an a list actor in an animated movie started with toy story. It was the first of its kind and they pulled out all the stops to make it a success. From that point on it became a template. But who knows - just as we now have animated movies going back to zany cartoon inspired animation (starting with the Mitchell's vs the machines I think or was it into the spider verse) maybe we will have that next. Unless you need a high energy comic relief character, you really don't need stars voicing CG characters. I mean - I am groot.

Angela jolies director turn was about stuff like this. Her first movie was in the land of blood and honey. About the atrocities during the Bosnian civil war. In particular the sexual violence against women. The movie had bad reviews. I was not able to go beyond the first 20 minutes. Mainly because it featured a common theme of the Bosnian war - rape as a weapon of war

Not sure I have the stomach for first they killed my father either.

Knowing Jolie maybe her next movie may be based on the last girl. Another fucking horror story about the bestiality of man.
