alizma: Calm down... If you are Putin, will you openly declare for Niger??! Russia can fully back Niger with weapons, tactics, manpower (Mercenaries via Wagner group), etc, secretly while openly condemning the coup plotters... In that way, they maintain relations with both nations while the two idiot nations tear themselves apart. You people have a lot to learn about Power and Diplomacy. Read! Read!! Read!!! 3 Likes |

FreeStuffsNG: Young man you seem to be very quick to comment, and on most occasions you just talk without proper check. How on earth would you ever call Niger “mostly dry land”? Have you taken you time to look through the reasons for the coup in Niger? Have you taken you time to find out why the coupists are severing ties with ? Have you taken your time to ask why still has a stranglehold on Niger, just like it’s former colonies? Niger is the second largest holder of Uranium in Africa. You can research what it is used for, if you care. Mineral commodities found in Niger republic coal, gold, gypsum, limestone, salt, silver, tin, and uranium. Niger was the world’s fourth-ranked producer of uranium as of 2006. The natural resources have been systematically exploited by the French in collaboration with corrupt politicians in Niger. The same corrupt leaders that hold you in bondage in this country, have been rejected by the Nigeriens in this unfortunate circumstance. Again Nigeria cannot afford the smallest of wars with any country. Peace keeping is not a typical war scenario. That Nigeria has been involved in several peace keeping missions does not qualify the country to engage any country in a war, no matter how small that country is, considering the current realities facing the country. Unable to deal with terrorism and banditry for twelve years on the trot; with an ill equipped army; with embezzlement of military allocations; with procurement of substandard military hardware; poor handling of men; how do you expect the country to get engaged with a people determined? When Nigeria engaged Sierra Leone/Liberia in the name of peace keeping many years ago, the country was better prepared. How can you achieve that now? With a baba who has no knowledge of military operations. With anger in the land over the economy? Do you not see the foolishness of the move? Use your small sense small please. 2 Likes |

Russia has told them to solve their problems independently and constitutionally but Nigeria wants to go hijack the problem because the ECOWAS chairman is from Nigeria.

Pray tell, wetin concern Nigeria with what happens internally in Niger? What exactly is Nigeria's stuff or interest that is lost or under jeopardy due to coup in Niger? I look forward to a response. |

The Pseudo Neutral Position Of Kremlin Why is Russia or even the West coming into the fray? And does this not underscore the military lameness or impotence of the African continent? The West Bloc and Kremlin should have marginal roles to play in this conflict. Nigeria and ECOWAS should be central in resolving this quagmire. Whether military action is required after diplomatic shuttling has failed is not important now. What I think is important is how to return Niger to constitutional democracy. People should forget the nonsense that Nigeriens love military rule. They don't know better. They are being carried away by the whim of temporary respite or break from a series of disappointed expectations. Nigeria may aptly launch its own peace initiative- PAX NIGERIANA, akin to what Julius Nyerere of Tanzania did between October 1978 and April 1979, when he toppled the Ugandan bandit, Idi Amin. Taking a cue from Nyerere, Nigeria can commit international vigilantism, returning Niger to international decency. It's often said in Yoruba cultural lore that the white cock doesn't recognize itself as elderly. Nigeria should start exerting its influence, at least, in the sub region. Call it sub regional imperialism if you like, but it's not. It's regional house-keeping. |

Biodun556: You’re correct, Sir. Wagner and Islamic extremist groups are already deploying throughout West Africa, especially the countries with recent coups. Sooner or later; Wagner and the Islamic extremism groups will be trying to cross into Nigeria and unless Nigeria wants the problem, they need to chop off the head. Just to tell you guys that aren’t brainwashed by Russia how crazy some of these Africans are— Putin has been in power (this term) for 11 years and even though the propagandists deny it, many Russians are displeased with Putin. In Russia, if one word is heard about overthrowing Putin, someone is going to get killed or go to jail because Putin is a dictator that tries to rule with absolute power—he’s also a White man who doesn’t want any parts of his country destroyed, he wants to maintain order and remain the only leader. Putin wants to maintain order in his own country with no infighting between Russians while he encourages vulnerable Africans to do the opposite. Putin and his paid propagandists encourage Africans to group and overthrow their governments, shooting, burning, and destroying their countries in the process. Putin knows that military rule doesn’t work and destroys a struggling country even further but he knows that African people will follow his wishes without thinking about why they should do something in their countries that he doesn’t allow in his. He promised grain and some Africans are too excited to realize that Putin is the reason for the grain shortage—-he promised it but it still hasn’t landed. He is promising to throw grain to Africans like feed to chickens and he is probably laughing at their leaders’ excitement. The way Africans are on world news flying Russian flags and chanting their love for Russia is embarrassing—it’s something not even Russians or white Russian ers in the west aren’t shown doing. Now, after Africans have professed their love for Putin and the coups, he is publicly saying that he won’t be recognizing the military rule and wants the democratically elected president back in office. Do these guys feel like fools yet? 2 Likes |
