elloso:For that few hours You still need a transit visa to land at Dublin airport, because Dublin Immigrations still need to check you in. Are you just gonna present them with a port with no visa to land at their airport? |

You don't require as long as you'll be there for a few hours and you won't be leaving the airport vicinity.. Only if u wanna step outside would u require a transit visa |

elloso: Yes, you need a transit visa to transit through any EU airport e route UK with a Nigerian port. I lost £700 last year when I ignorantly booked a flight to London via Frankfurt on Lufthansa for my mother in law. 1 Like |

godliman:You would need a transit visa to land at Dublin aiport enroute to any other country, immigration will still have to check you in before you enter the arrival hall, they will demand for landing visa for their airport it doesn't matter if you leave the airport or not. Even if your there for 30 minutes. |

You did not need a transit visa to stopover in dublin Airport as long as you are not entering the country. All you have to do is to find your way to the transit hall and patiently await your flight to Uk.

You won't need one if it is a technical stopover. To identify a technical stopover you will notice that the stay time is short and the flight won't change. 1 Like |

Good evening all, The onus is on every traveller to ensure that they have appropriate visa for their journey. Turkish airline in conjuction with their home country can waive transit visa within TURKEY only. Same way Egyptian airline wave for their engers in Cairo. In this particular case, I think you will need a transit visa. Transit visa is what it is. |

elloso:1. Call the airline and ask them their advise based on previous experiences. 2. As this questions on Google/Quora/Reddit/ you will get response from people who had the same problem. 1 Like |

elloso:If both your arrival flight and onward connecting flight are in Terminal 2 between the hours of 04:00 and 16:00 on the same day, you need a transit visa in this case. In all other situations you will need permission to enter the State. |

It is called a stop over for a reason and in most cases, it is to drop of travellers going to that destination or pick other travellers going to your destination while transferring the engers to either a bigger plane if the engers are much in number or to a connecting flight to your destination. In an ideal situation, you don't need a transit visa since you are staying inside the airport until you board the flight taken you to your destination. The appropriate and right thing for you to do will be to call the customer service of the airline for clarity. Wishing you a safe trip to your destination. 1 Like |

In matters like this, you want to check directly on the government website before taking off from Nigeria.
