Hello Everyone,
So I learnt about this express entry stuff around June last year and immediately swung into action. Applied for my transcript that same week but my school delayed the whole process but the ECA was finalized in February this year. I am an engineer with 8 years of work experience and my ECA was done using a masters degree. I did my IELTS exam last month and my score is L-8, R-7, W-7 and S-7.5. Currently my CRS score is 467. I was hopeful I'd max out my IELTS and if I had, my score would have been 476.
My concern is this, I'll be 31 by the end of October which means my CRS score will be reduced to 461 which will be very low considering the scores in the draws which has been in the 480s except I am lucky to be invited using the STEM category draws. I'd like recommendations on how best to increase my score.

Good day everyone.
Please does anyone know if IRCC no longer accepts manual police report? i.e the ink based fingerprint one. Or has anyone submitted police report using the old manual format in the last three months?
I'm having issues with the online process (I've engaged two different people from Alagbon) and I am not able to resolve it so I want to know if I can use the manual process.
Would really appreciate as this is the only thing holding me back from submitting my application.
I think you have to state you issue so anyone that can help will chime in on it..
My own isssue is.. I have made payment but it's not reflecting on my portal. I don call customer care tire.. I don follow up with mails too. I don tire

Good day guys,
My spouse is the Principal Applicant and in the course of putting together documents we need to apply for PR, we discovered that my occupation in our marriage certificate is different from my primary occupation.
Say I'm an Architect but my occupation in our marriage certificate says Engineer... How do we resolve this? Will an affidavit and LOW suffice?
Thank you.

This is no issue. People change jobs and careers all the time.
The most important thing is that you have 3 yrs in your primary NOC.

I need help . I have the BCS certificate in IT and i got it evaluated by WES.
I received ITA and i am currently compiling all my documents to apply. However, i noticed i was asked to provide Police report in England and im guessing its tied to my BCS certification.
Can someone who has gotten PPR or has landed in Canada and completed this process (ie utiising the BCS certificate as a second cert) advise me on how this was handled.
Thanks in anticipation of a swift reply
Hello, if you have the study materials for the bcs certificate in IT, can you please share it with me? Thanks in advance

Hello everyone! I'm facing a situation regarding my previous Canada application, and I could use some guidance. I was recently refused Canada work visa using a specific work history but I have discovered another pathway which requires me stating another work experience which I have but didn't disclose in my initial application. I'm now considering applying again, but I'm unsure how to navigate this situation. I would greatly appreciate any insights, suggestions, or experiences you could share to help me proceed effectively. Here are a few specific questions I have:
1. Has anyone encountered a similar situation where they had additional work experience not included in their initial Canada application?
2. What steps should I take to ensure transparency and accuracy when reapplying with this new work experience?
3. Are there any specific guidelines or protocols to follow when presenting this new work experience in my application?
4. How should I address the fact that I didn't disclose this experience in my previous application? What impact could it have on my reapplication?
5. Are there any potential risks or complications that I should be aware of when reapplying with additional work experience?
I value your insights and experiences, and any advice or suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance in navigating this situation.
You don’t have to game the system. Make your application straightforward by being truthful on all the forms you complete.

The scores are still above 481 which is out of reach of many with no connection to Canada (in- Canada studies or work or sibling in Canada or French fluency ). When the scores come down below 481 there will be more interest

Debbie. How are you. Have you gotten your ITA? It’s hard to keep up here. My sister has gotten hers.
Thanks for checking mama, no I haven’t gotten ITA, IELTS expired and I’m just due to take another one, lately I’ve had my hands full but I’m hopeful it’ll come through after the IELTS.

The last draw was 505. There couldn't have been more than a few Nigerians in that draw.

Yep the dynamics have changed. The process has also become very expensive. WES fee, IELTS fee, Funds in the bank, visa fee , ticket fees and cost of settling into Canada. Then for those going to study in Canada with the sole aim of transiting to permanent residency kindly make your plans before embarking on it. Agents are selling this route to people only for them to find out later that they do not have the scores needed to compete in the express entry pool. There are over 800,000 international students in canada and over a million people on one form of work permit or the other. With only about 110,000 ITAs yearly its obvious that things have changed (unlike in the past). In addition, the now unpredictable nature of the draws calls for better planning. No two people should be compared. Age, province of study, course of study, work experience field, family situation (sibling in canada), highest degree and other factors influences the ability to transition from study permit to work permit to PR

Lawyers that have evaluated their their degree certificates in the recent past, last few months, did you evaluate with IQAS or CES? Which of the two is faster? Do we have to submit both the LLB certificate and the Law school transcript/practicing certificate.

You submit just the LLB. I can’t say anything on the timeline for either though

And the good thing is that I see these French draws lasting for a very very long time.
With IRCC nothing is guaranteed. The pattern was consistent and predictable up until March 2020. The At some point it was TR to PR; Then CEC; Then All program draws and now french. Let us endeavor to be proactive in whatever pathway we chose. As for study route it is becoming too expensive with no guarantees. Ten years ago CAD was 133/USD 157 and people were more interested in experiencing western education in a developed country. Settling abroad permanently via study route was an option some bought into and others didn't. However, the trend has changed now. When I was a student (age 20/21/22/23) I knew some other students who were older than me (in their late 20s/early 30s) and were also on study leave from their place of work. Some returned to their jobs while some got a job and resigned.
Today you see/hear of people in their 40s/late 30s selling all they have worked for to pay their fees and also fund their dependents. The cost of things not working out via this route can be difficult to recover from. I will pick a 2 million naira french training over the study route that can cost a house, car and entire savings. The pressure sometimes split families permanently

Looks like IRCC had been smiling on French speakers lately. So I’ll say you should learn French and write the exam if you can

True. But I didn’t say it was going to last forever. I only said it will last a long time. I still maintain my stance. French speakers will continue to have some sort of advantage for a long time to come. Might not be draws, but the advantage will always be there.
