When I tell people that population is one of our biggest problem, people will be looking for excuses
In 1960 Nigeria population was 45million, that same year UK population was 52 million
2023 Nigeria population is above 220 million , that same UK is just above 65 million..
How are we going to live a better life when we are not even productive like the UK..

What happen to standard of living of Brazil, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Nigeria, are you saying they don't have good leaders

Tolue42 is very right. Think of a father who earns 50k and has two kids, and a father who earns 50k and has ten kids. Who will take care of his children better? Your guess is as good as mine.
You see, if you want to have massive population, you need plenty of resources to upskill your population and make them productive. If not, you will end up creating abject penury.
As far as I am concerned, Nigeria needs to peg her population now because we don't have enough resources to upskill and maintain our people.

There was even a time China pegged that a family should only have a child.. it became criminal offense to have more than 1 child

Manpower without knowledge is a recipe for disaster.
Japan with lesser population than Nigeria has a GDP than the entire African continent.
The growing population of Nigeria is a ticking time bomb if the leaders fail to make things right within a decade.

Easy. has a lower birth rate than we do due to improved women's rights, and by extension, expensive child care.
By improved women's rights, I don't mean it the way you think. Women have access to better education, health and welfare, and job rights, in , so they do not need a man per se. Nigerian women don't.
Following from above, men and women don't need to marry to have all they need..ie income. Even if they marry, they have fewer kids so that they have more time to work.
Also, Nigerians need to have children to provide for them in old age. German women don't need that necessarily.
Childcare in is also relatively expensive compared to Nigeria.

Most of the settlers in the north are not from Nigeria...
Most of them are from neighbouring countries like Chad, Niger....
