President Bola Tinubu will, on Saturday, July 8, depart Abuja for Guinea-Bissau to attend the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States, in Bissau, the country’s capital.

The President’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, Dele Alake, revealed this in a statement he signed on Friday evening, titled ‘President Tinubu to attend ECOWAS summit in Guinea-Bissau.’

At the summit on Sunday, July 9, participants are expected to address memoranda on five pressing sub-regional issues.

They include “Report of the 50th Ordinary Session of the Mediation and Security Council covering security challenges faced by the member countries; Report of the 90th Ordinary Session of ECOWAS Council of Ministers on the financial situation of the body and the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area, as well as Report on the status of Transition in the Republics of Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea,” Alake revealed.

Other items slated for discussion include; the Memoranda on the ECOWAS Single Currency Programme and the Report on Obstacles to the Free Movement of Goods on the Abidjan-Lagos corridor.

Guinea-Bissau is the first African State the President is visiting since assuming office on May 29, 2023.

So far, he has visited Paris, , where he participated in the summit for ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron from June 22-23.

From June 24 – 27, President Tinubu was in London for a private visit, where he reportedly met his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari. So far, he has spent eight days on foreign engagements.

Some of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council and other top government officials will accompany him.

The Nigerian leader is expected back in the country at the end of the meeting.

We the good people of Nigeria are enjoying Tinubu's government, we are not complaining. Tinubu should continue the good work he is doing for Nigerians, he should not listen to anybody.

Tinubu is the best president Nigeria has ever produced. Tinubu is a god sent.

God bless president Tinubu,
God bless the Republic of Nigeria.

Hopefully, after the summit, the borders will be reopened.

I miss the Nigeria where food items were in abundance and cheap.

Great man

Now that Nigerians do not need paper visa to travel to Rwanda. I think this would be an opportunity for those who would like to seek a better environment while our country grows for better

I hope the list of his cabinet ministers would be released by Monday?

You would not be allowed to promise and fail.

Never!

Your close confidants and advisers would not be allowed to set milestones and fail. Funny it is the same adviser who earlier promised, that was so casual in informing that the list is still not ready.

We were promised 1 month which is now overdue, the clock is ticking away towards inefficiency.

Mr President must ensure that ECOWAS begin to do things the right way in ensuring total elimination of banditry, smuggling and transborder prostitution that is destroying their Commonwealth. They must come together to build democratic institutions in their domains

Tinubu is just going there to disgrace us. The brain dead old ancestor will not be able to make any meaningful contribution during the summit. This will just be an opportunity for Ghanaians to mock us by comparing our president with theirs just like South Africans did during Paris summit.

Just to go hug some dignitaries and take pictures with them ,like he always does.
I'm very certain he's not going to give a formal speech in that gathering.
Just take a look at how he's shaking Mrs NOI with his two druggie hands in the last summit he attended for photoshoots.

At least not like Buhari who will go and read speech prepared by another man 😀
