If the G-5 especially Wike had not gone on a de-marketing campaign, Obi wouldn't have gained so much ground. What made Obi emerge as a viable alternative to most voters was the public fighting in the PDP which made most people see PDP as one not really viable to represent an alternative they needed. Take for example, Tinubu won Benue, Oyo and Rivers where G-5 govs were sitting. Same Tinubu lost Lagos, Osun, Plateau and northern states where APC govs are also sitting. What this implies is that if PDP had won those 3 G-5 states, or pulled good numbers there at least, the numbers would have been different for Tinubu since he lost those APC states. Where he lost those APC states, G-5 prevented Atiku from having the advantage.

Anyone with sense knows that what really killed PDP was the G-5 especially Wike who kept demarketing Atiku at every chance he got especially organising media charades. Even if Obi was on Labour Party ticket, if Wike did not go about with his de-marketing job, Atiku would have won the SS and even NC and won it well.
