Nigerian Investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo has said that Lagos State Neighbourhood Watch mandated corps to submit their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs), IGBERETV reports.

He wrote on his Twitter handle;

The Lagos State Neighbourhood Watch, an agency of the Lagos State government, is mandating all corps to submit their PVCs tomorrow.

This is totally wrong in a democracy.

Citizen rights to voting decisions is enshrined in the constitution and must not be tainted.

Why didnt you that before the last election? Almost 90% of PVC for lagos were collected, so there is no question of if people have their pvc.

Why dont you wait till after the election? what will change between now and then? why the sudden need for this "verification" just before the next round of polling?
