I felt like I was holding my breath from the Katana Man arc up until the end of the first part.

I Cartoon Network and their censorship as well. But weebs were mostly watching subbed. So who'd this really ruin anime for? I mean, it basically says 4 KIDS. Might as well complain about the Japanese censored versions of ecchi shows.

I'm not saying it's not valid to be worried. I just choose not to stress myself with things that I can't do much about. And the dude's post was a regurgitation of stuff I've already gotten tired of seeing on different platforms. So I said never mind me. Didn't know that would cause him to have a meltdown in my mentions.

So far Disney has handled the distribution of 2 anime shows I know of, Bleach and Summertime Render and that hasn't affected the quality of the viewing so far.

Only issue was with Summertime Render's release pattern, which is a similar issue Netflix and Amazon tend to have as well. And I completely understand if folks are worried about this.

At the end of the day, we mostly get our anime from pirate sites, so when Disney's influence starts to affect the quality of the anime on animepahe, then I'll worry.
Until then, anyone who wants to lose sleep on the issue should, as I said before, carry on and never mind me.

Yeah but at the time, they were the only legal way of watching anime in the west. There has always been a push towards increased censorship from western localizers in anime. However, fansubbers will always be there for us.

True. The House of Mouse is clearly gunning for world domination. I'm not really worried about the anime front yet cos they've got some home-based and in-house problems that they need to fix, otherwise their house may very well come crashing down.
They had a distribution deal with Ghibli back in the day, if memory serves me right, that didn't go beyond distribution. Here's hoping this Kodansha deal will be similar. But then again, we live in different times.
