Lagos state does not earn IGR from Tincan and Apapa ports as stated by some people on this thread. Both ports are under the FG through Nigerian Ports Authority. Almost every other port in Nigeria except the Lekki port is fully owned by the FG. Making ports in other states functional is a good move that is long overdue.

The country is so blessed with more than 853km of her coastline bordering Atlantic Ocean. Such states are Lagos, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers. Creating more enabling seaports will not only open up more opportunities to the economy, trade, job but also the massive developmental infrastructure inherent to such. One seaport in each of the aforementioned states is not too big for most populated black nation on earth.
China alone has 34 major seaports, with 2000 minor seaports. Nigeria can be a major port for various landlocked countries in Africa.
