Hello guys, please I'm kind of confused and I need input!

I applied for my study permit on the new portal and I've been in Canada for about 3 months. Now, I want to apply for SOWP and visit visa for my wife and kid. Since I have to use the GCkey, who is best to open a GCkey , me or my wife? What are the forms that must be submitted on the GCkey portal?

Either of you can open the GCkey, it doesn’t matter. The difference is that if you are the one opening the GCKey and filling in the application, you would need to fill the use of representative form. Also you can start the application to see all the required documentation. Most important for me will be your POF and SOP stating why you need them to come.

Applied for Visit Visa alongside with my Spouse who was applying for Study Permit, and Visit Visa for our two Munchkins - May 15th 2022

My application was cancelled in June, IRCC requested I apply for SOWP instead and refunded the application fee - Submitted June 30th 2022

Spouse Study permit was approved August and she resumed September

Munchkins Visitor Visas were approved September 28th, I got medical request same day

PPR today, November 3rd, 2022

It’s been quite interesting and I’ll advise people always apply as a family on the old portal if they have the funds to it!

Oga there is nothing like that. Just send your package to Abuja that’s still the fastest processing location. Putting yourself in a tight corner sometimes doesn’t make sense, getting the PPR is what was most important than a travel date

Please does anyone know the impact of MP on SOWP application?

Because the processing time for our application was 13weeks and we are going to 8 months nothing has been updated, not even upfront medicals so we ed MP 2months back and was told only criminality ed. She advised we them again after 2months if nothing by then.

1. What category do I select when booking medicals, is it for visitor?

2. What are the documents I need to submit, I believe I do not need to write an invitation letter since I am still in Nigeria. Am I supposed to write an LOE and what would be the content?

3. He has a visitors visa application on the new portal, should I cancel it?

4. Do I use my GCkey to apply for him or open a new one for him?

Please I need you guys to help answer these questions, SweetJJ, Ketima, Profgordons and the others who have applied for SOWP

Congratulations, package differently then put all in one envelope if you are sending by mail. Do not forget to pay the transmission fee for each child and I will advice sms fee also so you get real-time update on the movement of your package.

3. I’ll advice you cancel it but they also can do that for you if they think an SOWP is better.
4. It doesn’t matter which you use, his application will be linked to you. If you apply for him under your GCKey, you will need to fill a use of representative form.
