Oshodi had an n behind it until the 16th century. It used to be a settlement of the bini people. It used to be named after a popular bini settler, called oshodin.

Are you guys also aware that there's nothing like Dosunmu as a name? It was Docemo, in Lagos a conglomerate owned by one of the colonialists. When they couldn't pronounce it well, especially the illiterate ones in that era, they called it Dosunmu . Some people even named their children dosumnu without knowing the meaning, same as Oshodi
