Following the recent suspension of the eight-month old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Management of the Amadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced resumption of academic activities.

The University announced October 24th, 2022, for the reopening of its campus to activities. But continuation of lectures for the truncated 2021/2022 academic session’s first semester will only begin January 3, 2023.

A “special bulletin” published by the institution on Wednesday, made available to CAMPUS GIST, said the the approval was given by the University’s Senate at its 516th emergency meeting held today (Wednesday).

Forcing them to suspend strike doesn't mean things will change. Who teaches on empty stomach?!

There are three duties/responsibilities of lecturers.

1) Teach
2) Ancillary services
3) Research.

No lecturer is promoted on (1) Teach.

While on strike, only number (1) was not carried out.

If the government decides not to pay the arrears. They may be justified but on resumption, 2022/2023 will begin.....so what happens to this year?! Since they claim they aren't paid for it and would work the months paid.

Yet, billions are being stolen daily

The matter is still in the court. Let's see how it will pan out.

so u will prefer someone that has not eaten for 8 months to mark ur final result to someone that is been paid salary..try dey relax bross ...everybody go graduate..is fg going to give u thier salaries as bursary ..no be to rig election them they keep the money for..or u think say apc nor get sense way them allow d strike reach 8 months..oga no money for election and uni salaries is the target..they planned this 3 years back .stop ranting

There were no state or private universities as we do today back then So strikes don't have the same bite today. And this is not the first time no work no pay has been proposed
