ASUU scheduled 13th of October for an emergency meeting to officially suspend the 2022 strike.

Final agreements;
1. FG agrees to pay the outstanding 8 months' salaries.
2. Revitalization and salary areas have been cleared.
3. UTAS has not been finalized.

I'm happy that the 3 likely presidential successor- Obi, Atiku and Tinubu are more celebral and free than the present President. A President that only visits military and paramilitary graduations but hardly visit any university as a Visitor but rather sends representatives. Find it difficult to sit with Professors and intellectuals to discuss Education and its values. If he had shown interest, theses strikes wouldn't have lingered for too long. May God give Nigeria vibrant leaders.

So what exactly was achieved apart from negatively impacting the lives of Nigerian students unfortunate enough to find themselves in a public university system?

ASUU have lost public sympathy

Do Nigerians know these ASUU lecturers are still being paid or will still receive their full salaries even while on strike?

Who would lose in all these?
STUDENTS

If during the strike the lecturers used it to work on and improve on their curriculum, then it may not be total loss for students as they will get updated information

Hope them go give double promotion to students. Rubbish

Any strike from ASUU now again, the little respect they still earn from the people would be taken away from them. Presently they are fast loosing the little respect parents have for them

Useless Government

This is a good news, hope all have be resolved and next year ASUU will want to go on strike again, because this strike is tiring and it has negative effects on students.

They don’t have a choice again. The good thing is that strike would no longer be a weapon for negotiation anymore.

In all of these... Students remains the worst hit as usual...

Lost time can never be regained...it's gone!
House rent paid...gone!
Many are already out of NYSC minimum age requirements...

Many are already out of minimum age required for their dream job...

Many won't be able to continue, they are already financially handicapped as their sponsors are dead or retired....

The sad effects of these strike actions on Students are endless..it cannot be captured!

Whereas, the 8months salary arrears these striking Lecturers were not in class will be paid in full...
Trust me...many of these lecturers will use this money to complete their ja'pa process..
