Actually no southwestern state comes close to Owerri, Enugu, Awka, Abakaliki and Umuahia.. In of index and developments. Even my my village is much more developed than most of these glorified slums. They'll have to begin by getting rid of those Ancient, brown roofed, mud house buildings and then learn the art of building a house with an actual toilet...then I'll let them know more about urban development.

The first time we relocated to Akure in 2014, we asked our Dad how the place was, my Dad (a very funny guy) said our village (Not state capital) was a smal london compared to the place. He jokes a lot so we were not mentally prepared for what we saw. it was a hell of a cultural shock for us, don't know whether to start from their infrastructure, to hygiene, to education system. That day I came to appreciate cultural differences.

I have been around most SW states of course, Ado hmmm..let's not go there, Osogbo ..Omo. Ibadan actually has some nice landscaping and Ancient/modern edifices, it's still those basic issues sha, (Toilets, structures, city planning) never been to Ogun..I heard Osun is worse than Ado or close, can't even begin to imagine... most of these states are salary earning states as well so don't expect much..

I am not Yoruba or Igbo but guy you just spoke the fact

Most southwestern states are rural states

To be honest in of development by region it is south south first then north west, south east south west north central before north east

What Yoruba people don't know is that apart from Lagos the other states are local.. joke aside

Agbogugu is a village in Awgu LGA.

You did not enter Enugu, chief. Enugu is clean. The present Governor refused to continue with the works of his predecessor hence putting a pause to the development of the city. Nonetheless, Enugu is vibe and clean.

Reading comments from this thread makes one understand why most Nigerians who become privileged to hold public offices, seek their own interests above others'. Their presidents come from the same lots of 'tribalistic' masses.

Nigeria's unity is a very difficult task to achieve with certain minds alive. Either you kill certain mindsets or you kill certain people. I'm not in of the latter, but that was Jerry Rawlings' move and Ghana smells different today.
You can see all the Nigerian states here, represented on Nairaland, oozing great stench. You don't have to visit physically. No waste transport. Just look at people's comments, you'll know the state of their States.

The first in my mind is Umuahia, when I was in service, all the way from Lagos to Akwa ibom, na only Umuahia I dey enter traffic for govt house area, no be sey traffic light dey control tinz o, na bad road, later on I learnt the state house is a rented apartment/land(I don't know how true), but the capital is the worst I've seen
