A friend got ppr today, her seat for fall got cancelled and she applied for a January program(no decision yet)
Now she wants to apply for her husband and kids so that they can go together in January (meanwhile, her SOP stated that she’ll be going alone) but because there’s still time she’s considering applying for the whole family. Please what does she need to do to package the application?

I could not renew my port in time for my trip due to NIN issues. It is either I travel or cancel the whole thing.

Let me use my common sense(I stand to be corrected)....From your statement, we can deduce you are both British and Nigerian, why not use your British port and travel, I doubt if there is a law that forbids you from not using your British port, if the Nigerian port is expired...I suggest you continue with your travel plans

Which port was your visa issued with?

I reckon if you are a PR already, you already have your PR card, so no issues here.

However, if you aren’t a PR and your visa is not issued on the British port—— Na to Dey your Dey.

I don’t know if Canada has any special arrangements for UK port holders, you probably need to find that out.

Yes you can but you need a valid travel document otherwise some airline will not board you.

If you get a willing airliner, yep. Then sort out your NIN and Nigerian port in Naija. Someone can mail the renewed port to you when it's ready.

No, I don't have Canadian PR. But GBR port holders do not require a visa to enter Canada and the US.

I am returning to Naija though, this is just to visit family.

If you are coming to Canada with your GBR port… you are good…

There are some schools that offer pretty much emergency ission. Especially colleges.

I would suggest she looks into that.

She should also use whatever local/provincial services exist that will help/prepare her to choose a good subject, set her up with PR pathways, etc.

Also, please note that study permits are issued at the port of entry.

Your ission letter should be enough to through (please ask around about this). However, if the office somehow finds out that the ission was cancelled, they won't issue the study permit and will likely cancel the visa as well, while asking you to use your return ticket to return.
