The fear I sense is that Wike will use his financial war chest to teach PDP or Atiku a lesson. I sense their worry is that his battle will go far beyond Rivers state.

Wike is a born politician. His aim after local government chairman and the Rivers governorship was to become president. With the presidency unofficial zoned to the South and with his vast financial to the PDP over the yearz, he felt he had the presidential ticket in the bag.

Alas, no! Not only was Atiku the winner of the presidential ticket, but he was further stabbed when Atiku picked Okowa over him to be his running mate. This was too much to take! He felt used and dumped and they musr pay!

Wike is a fighter and does not suffer fools gladly.

I think many in PDP are fed up with his antics and if he refuses to be pacified, to blazes with him.

While it is understandable that Atiku's camp are probably tired of this lingering issue, almost 2 months after the primary--they probably expected everyone to have kissed the ring and fallen in line behind the candidate by now--they might want to be on the lookout for saboteurs. Lamido might just have his eyes on personal, rather than party's interest in this duel with Wike. Why would Atiku want to turn a potential ally into a certain foe in the run up to a general election. Atiku will is the only person with something to lose, should Wike be able to play a spoiler. One might argue that Atiku's last hope to be The President of the FRN is on line here, while Lamido has literarily nothing at stake. In fact, we could equally argue, that he would actually inch closer to his goal of one day becoming the president of Nigeria if Atiku were to lose again, possibly for the last time.
