I doubt that Mr femi.
Their economy is more sophisticated, more diversified, though smaller. Their ICT sector is probably the best in Africa.
Their Currency is competing favourably with the dollar right now, and the standard of living is increasing steadily.
Nigeria is the complete opposite.

Kenyan economy can't compete with Lagos State economy. Looking at their level of development and population, their demend for external currency will be low compared their nations output. Hence they'll have a stronger economy.

Dangote refinery hopefully should be up and running meaning scarce FX won't be used to import petroleum products. Not that prices of diesel, petrol, kerosene, aviation fuel will drop dramatically but at least this should make the removal of petrol subsidy less stressful.

Gas projects that will come onstream too will help.

Lekki port is a huge game changer could easily become the hub of West African import/export shipping meaning more fx.

Hopefully the siemens deal would have boosted our distribution capacity. Other than that new legislative reforms have taken electricity off the exclusive list so viable wealthier states like Lagos, Rivers, etc can build and operate their own power stations/grid.

However the new president will have to take very bold, painful but needed decisions regarding fuel subsidy and the land use act.

Agriculture will always continue to be a potential gold. Heard recently we've started exporting more ginger than ever before.

Correction noted. I probably mistook it for the warship NNS Kada.

https://www.channelstv.com/2022/04/02/nigeria-acquires-new-war-ship-nns-kada-to-boost-maritime-security/

That said the point I was making is that new acquisitions for the Navy have helped reduce piracy incidents to zero in H1 2022.

https://www.timesng.com/news/top-news/544222-nigeria-records-drop-in-sea-robberies-piracy-attacks-report.html

Point noted wink

Exactly we need to make our economy a productive one so you can earn earn enough FX simple.

In the spirit of learning and debate what do you think we can do to fund infrastructural projects without having to borrow?

The PPP model is the most viable, only that investor confidence is lacking.

Lekki deep seaport was built on a PPP model, The Badagry deep seaport would be built on a PPP model.

Now if we can translate that into roads, bridges, sgr, etc it could be a tremendous success for all parties, as those projects would be run on a BOT basis.

It's about strengthening investor confidence as the market is very attractive.

Look at how the NNPC unlocked $50bn worth of investment in the energy sector just because the PIA was ed for instance

https://www.oedigital.com/news/498709-nigeria-s-nnpc-renews-oil-contracts-to-produce-10-bln-barrels

it's about reducing legislative ambiguity, so investors don't feel threatened when there is a change in government thereby removing political uncertainty which has been one of the major reasons for low FDI

Brilliant. A serious government will always look for ways to reduce borrowing. That's why I tend to disagree when people say Buhari has not borrowed enough.

We saw it from the lekki port example that there are alternatives to borrowing blindly to build infrastructure. The Apapa road built by Dangote is another example. ing and encouraging investments such as the Dangote refinery can also help a serious government save forex. This is why next year's election matters.

Actually the Apapa road project was a tax holiday kind of arrangement for Dangote. The same arrangement has been arranged for MTN and Glo who will reconstruct roads in the SE and SW for a reduced tax rate.

The only major impediments to Nigeria's growth when all these projects come on stream are the hydraheaded duo of corruption and Islamic terrorism. Terrorism will continue to reduce the impact of your last point unless we bring in a regime that can take terrorism seriously.

3. Let increase light bill they will say it too much the government hate the poor and they want 24 hrs on interrupted power.

How will people not want cheap things when your minimum wage is $50 per month. Meanwhile your stupid politicians including the president ensures nothing happens to their large incomes and perks of office.

Suffersmile or whatever, those are not Nigerian police forces but volunteers to the Kwara state Government to assist the police locally in the fight against insecurity. Obviously they expected to be paid salaries but the Kwara state Government says there was no agreement to pay salaries from the beginning.

Honestly it's annoying. Government gave some businesses money to private companies to provide electricity meters at a subsidized rate to consumers, but guess what they have chopped the money. Later we will criticize government that the power sector isn't growing. How will it grow when senseless stealing like this happens. Nigeria has to be the only country in the world where we deliberately sabotage what we will even make more money from just for mere small change.

Well, I moved to Canada 2 years ago and may equal all the government moves out there in Canada and in Nigeria. Government do not pry into people`s needs a lot, it only controls people to pay the bills for country. There are a lot of good services, like electrician, plumber or basement waterproofing Toronto services, like https://www.draincom.ca/basement-waterproofing-toronto/. I asked them whether they feel the government prying into their business for purpose. They all say like one that all the government doing is helping with making citisens` life better. That is where Nigerian politicians should study from!

What was the minimum wages in 2007 or even 2014? stop using that shit to justify laziness Nigerians who wants everything to be cheap or free. They don't want to pay task but always want free quality healthcare, subsidy is among what killed our currency also leads to the so called low wages.

Terrorism did affect our economy because we fail to do the right thing at the right time. Both politicians and the citizens are responsible for the nation down fall so kiss the ugly truth about we are the problem not just the government.

I just hope you are doing this for money. Otherwise it is pathetic. Governments across subsahara Africa have failed woefully to better the lot of citizens as the whole world acknowledges. I am yet to meet a truly educated individual who would blame the citizens for Africa's woes. It's plainly a failure of leadership. That fact is as tangible as the nose on your face, brother. The only thing the citizens can be blamed for is voting for idiots such as Buhari.

If minimum wage was little before Buhari got there, how has he improved it? By taking naira from #200 to #450 within 6 years. Will that make the purchasing power of the minimum wage bigger or smaller? I don't get you.

People want cheap things. What's the quality of the governance your leaders provide? A useless president that runs abroad for ear problems or the former governor of Lagos that has his doctors abroad? grin grin

Or is it Nigerians that made government unable to fix refineries? About$500bn oil wealth has been stolen over the years by your leaders, you blame that on poor Nigerians too because they want cheap things?

Did your Tinubu not claim there was nothing like subsidy?

Nonsense!
He's even absolving the government of its inability to do anything meaningful against terrorism. Na wa o. grin

When it comes to the source of Ghana’s economic problems, VP Bawumia plays the BLAME GAME. You know, it wasn’t me, it was the guy behind the tree. Today, I measure GHA's inflation at 80%/yr. Without a currency board, GHA is going down the tubes.

Even if all the World Rapers stop their f'ery right now some of us are irretrievably fecked.

Ghana is still better off and Ghanaians are doing better

At that inflation, there will be wide spread hunger and malnutrition in Kenya but Ghana has gone beyond that.

The little you're facing, and your govt is already g deals for food aid.

There's too much money being flushed into the real estate sector such that the impact of inflation hasn't really hit populace as much.

How does somebody become a police officer and they are not paid salaries your lies are just becoming too much. How can somebody work for two years and not be paid a salary as a police officer even look at some of them holding their guns.. no matter what line you tell they are protesting and they are not being paid and the law in Nigeria is police officers cannot protest. This means this situation is getting very desperate in the country imagine going to work for 2 years without food for your family
