Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has banned movement of cattle on foot in every part of Anambra State.

Soludo, who met with of Anambra State Cattle Menace Committee at the Government House, Awka, at the weekend, said the ban was in compliance with the 2021 anti-open grazing law of the State, adding that enforcement would begin from September.

“Now that we have a law banning open grazing, the law enforcement agents have been directed to implement it.

“Though the law has been in existence since almost one year ago, cattle rearers keep parading certain areas in the State in contravention to the law,” Soludo said.

Former governor of the State, Willie Obiano had assented to the Cattle and Other Livestock Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Bill of Anambra State in 2021, but failed to enforce the ban.

Soludo, while speaking at the meeting, said that his istration would ensure the implementation of the law by September.

He applauded of the Anambra State Cattle Menace Committee for their devotion to duty, saying that Anambra people have largely lived in harmony with herdsmen, but the herdsmen must conduct their businesses within the ambit of extant laws.

Good move from the no-nonsense Governor. Either ranch your cattle or take them back to your home town. There's grass everywhere for cow to chop.

Good move.
The fulanis that condemn anti grazing laws, their cows destroy farmlands, they graze wherever they feel like and attack people for standing up, yet their cows aren't as big and as fresh as those ones in ranches in Brazil, Argentina and New Zealand.
When you see videos of their cows, you wonder why we haven't adopted ranching since.
There's no preferential treatment in business, get a ranch or sell off your cows. Imagine the state of this country if we can get things right.
Naija go sweet die.

I hope YEEBOS would still have the same opinion when northerners start testing mics on YEEBOS in the north.

When you say testing mic do you mean the one that they have already started using.

See if you had successfully acquired your B.sc from the university of common sense, your first course of action would not be to bring tribalistic sentiments to this thread ...
which developed nation still practices open grazing?.

I live and school in the north and i have had a first hand experience of what open grazing does and i tell you it more harm than good.
We have had cases of cattles chasing student in school, causing accidents, clearing up farms, and this is just to mention but a few.

So please if you don't mind even if you do mind shove your tribalistic sentiments up your ass.

A welcomed development ... open grazing is way outdated ..
