I just had my son in Canada, the mum is PR holder there and the son is entitled to a Canadian port but we hold a work visa here in the UK.
Can my son come with the Canada port and convert to the work visa when he arrives or needs to apply from Canada? Thanks for the answers

One thing you should know right now is that SECURITY INDUSTRY AUTHORITY via GOV.UK is handing out badges to people with less than 3 - 6 months stay in the UK provided you have all the required documents (NPF police character certificate inclusive).

Please I need pointers on splitting utility bills.

We got a 5 bedroom student accommodation and the bills Uniacco is quoting is high....£23 per person per week.

We have decided to do it ourselves at least for the first 2 months and see if it's cheaper. If not, we'll go ahead and use Uniacco.

My questions are...

1) How do we go about splitting the bills..electric bills really cos some would have extra appliances like TV, Fridge in their rooms while others won't.

2) If after 2 months of doing it ourselves, it turns out that we're paying higher or same and want to go back to Uniacco, can we do that easily?

3) What energy providers are best to work with for cheaper rate?

4) Per adventure, we decide not to do it ourselves, are there other companies like Uniacco that offer cheaper rates?

This is tricky, permit me to brainstorm with you

Canada port can spend up to 6 months visa free in the UK.

But can’t switch to skilled visa on visit visa.

Unless there’s an “exception” rule you’ll most likely need to apply outside the uk. With these home office delays, you’ll probably spend another 1 month plus waiting for visa.

I quite agree with Boris. You do tend to come across as quite rude and crass. And more often than not, you are wrong.

I was shocked to learn that you were Band 8. I would have guessed band 1. Sorry to be blunt but this needed to be said.

International license (which is valid for one year) is required if the person wants to drive on arrival to the Uk. The normal naija license is not allowed/recognised.

If you have not lived in the UK for 5yrs you can still get SIA BUT you have to get criminal record from Nigeria. When i applied for SIA as a student i was only 2yrs old here, so i have to get criminal record from Nigeria. That was why i said that he is right in some things he said.
