Most times, i close manually. What determines it is market structure and not any rigid set TP. Example; when i was swinging jpy shorts sometime last month, i closed because market structure changed but i wasn't confident enough to go long.

First off, it's demo not live as i want my first live to be prop . I started late last year to try out FTMO demo trials and I decided to equally run a demo of less figure to be sure ing all the prop trials was not "by luck" even though I failed some(I've done over 10 of them and I have my statistics to check my performance).

It doesn't. And if you've also observed,i have stated after info.first's contests that I'll be flexible and trade like a day trader when trading prop s and I think I'm making good progress in that regard.

The week was volatile and gold was able to print a higher low as it tested the demand zone. If it can give a higher high then i would look for a zone for entry, break of the higher low invalidates this setup.

That is not the point. The point is HODLing for long which is scary. I should believe you understand how the market works; bullish impulse,bearish retracement then bullish impulse again.... The reverse for bearish markets.

Now if you understand the financial market thus, why won't you sell at the top and use the profit to buy the bottom?

I have a belief where i don't buy any idea the general public accepts because i believe therein lies the secret to manipulating a large group at once. Everyone says HODL, buy the dip, etc and my "Spidey senses" tell me something is wrong. To every optimism,there should be a touch of pessimism to keep you in reality still.
