I was thinking last week of May, but with this whole confusion about not being able to come back in when port is about to expire has paused the trip....if anyone can assure me I will get my port in a month or 6 weeks time, then I plan towards end of June

justwise:

I think renewing port here now is a lot easier compare to what i went through last Nov. When are you planning to travel?

So houses without water meters enjoy unlimited usage of water at a fixed rate every month?

Lexusgs430:

It depends on the size of the hot water reservoir..........

What to do, turn shower on, wet body, turn off, wash body without shower on (or turn on small), when body fully washed....... Rinse body off .......... grin.

This sequence, should not exceed 2 minutes, or you love to sing in the shower, whilst shower is running........ grin

I wish I had this type of your shower, my family are simply ignorant of the fact we are on a water meter.......... grin

Set up direct debit, for either all or minimum payment.......

The advantage of minimum payment is, you never miss a payment...... The hit on your credit file, for a missed payment is HUGE ...........

What type of boiler from hell is that? It’s certainly not fit for purpose, unable to produce hot water after only 2 minutes?

Pretty sure it's the conventional boiler with tank in the loft and not the combi boiler. If the hot water in the tank finishes it could take a while for it to fill back up in my experience with it.

At op, look on the bright side it will help you take quick showers, less energy bills.

Move to Scotland, never switch off your taps and pay a fixed rate.

You have two options, you can either make the minimum payment or pay off all the charges you have accumulated for the statement month. As long as you do either of those, you avoid having a missed payment on your record. Set up a direct debit for whichever option you choose.

If you pay off the minimum only, you will pay interest on any amount above the minimum, if your card has not given you 0% interest for a certain number of months.

With the way people are flooding into England these days, illegally and legally, this is becoming a more and more attractive option for me.
Head to Aberdeen or Dundee, live a quieter and cheaper life, pay the extra tax (which should be offset by cost of living savings from living in smaller towns) and get free bus travel for the children, free prescriptions, and hopefully free university education for them in time.

Good morning Pips

Going through my Visa, I just realised that it will expire in may 2023. The same month my wife finishes her program. Was thinking that there is usually a buffer of two months or so after graduation to sort out PWP or is it just the norm? What shall we do? Engage the school international student dept? Suggestions are welcomed

I don't agree with this ooo. I think a lot of Nigerians abroad are forever helping those back home. Do we really only just look down on our fellow men

According to the World Bank data, in 2018, the Nigerian Diaspora remittance was $24.31bn; in 2019, it was $23.81bn; and in 2020, it was $17.21bn.

I mean Nigerians abroad living together iin a community

I was paying more in Energy and Gas in Edinburgh than I am currently doing in Newcastle.
More in Rent than in Newcastle.

Las Las i we move back to Scotland (Aberdeen or Fife). Much later in life, after we have secured the Red pot.

I don't understand your £0.000's.......

You have £4000 credit limit....... You already spent £300.00........

Your minimum payment is £35.00.......... You can setup direct debit, for anything from £35.00 - £300......

Or set direct debit for £35 & pay whatever extra comes to your heart, within the app (linked bank /using long numbers).........

If you noticed, I specifically mentioned only Aberdeen and Dundee as exemplars, and specifically did NOT mention either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
There is a reason why.

Good evening, I will like to ask if someone travels a month before course start date, can he work full time before school resumes?

Yes, but you need luck and adequate planning to be able to get your BRP, number, school timetable and a job very quickly. Otherwise, it could take up to 3 weeks or more before you start working

Great people, good morning,

Pls as a dependant does one need an introductory letter to open an or it is only the main applicant ?

Nobody needs intro letter if they can provide proof of address like a utility bill with your name on it. If you don't have that, I would say "stick to Revolut and Monzo" first as they don't require proof of address. You can even use the Statement of from Monzo to open a traditional , I think. Truth is there is no rush, Revolut and Monzo are quite sufficient unless you love to deposit lots of cash. There are other ways to get proof of address like receiving a Government letter to your place of abode. Maybe to vote and they send you a letter

Yeap I am still enjoying that in London and not worrying about someone filling the bathtub with water daily for a swim.... however I saw a notice from Thames Water wanting to force install a meter in 6 million homes.....

You are comparing pineapples to apples. You can't compare cost of living in 'Scotland's London' to England's North East

I had this same issue with my dependent and failed to address it soon enough, needless to say, it was hellish when I was to apply for postgraduate visa.

A shorter visa expiry date is an Home Office error - your dependant visa is supposed to be valid until the same date as the principal applicant's. Get in touch with them asap and they'll correct it.

Our people’s inability to mind their own business sometimes does my head in. I just don’t get why everyone was jumping on the OP’s case and suggesting they buy a dead arse car instead, and somehow implying that buying a £6k car is a bad idea, when they clearly don’t know who the OP is and what they can and cannot afford. It’s crass ignorance, poverty mentality or lazy generalisation at best. Not everyone that uses finance to buy something really needs the money - sometimes it’s just better to go that route, for so many reasons including credit profile building, extra liquidity and access to emergency funds, etc. I generally prefer spending other people’s free or cheap money while smiling at mine sitting pretty in my high earning savings or investment lol. Imagine telling someone that has always driven a new/almost new car their entire life back home to buy a £1k 15-20 years old car in the name of being a foreign student. If that car doesn’t kill them, it’s going to be the reason they fail grin

Lmao see essay telling people to mind their business. Sorry

If people no offer advice or help = Nigerians don't carry themselves along like Indians and other Asians

Offer help/advice = mind your own business. Mr ITK. UK gatekeeper with unsolicited advice

Decide not to offer help /advice = Village people, them no Wan make others progress. Tanfiani

Talk and interact well with people = Nigerians too dey famz

Keep To yourself = Na snob, e no dey follow people relate. Too full of himself

Speak good English = Nigerians too like fake accent and forming.

You can't win with Nigerians I swear
