It's very sad. Women are increasingly becoming endangered.And the statistics are frighteningly soaring. Someone told me yesterday that some ritualists were caught ,and they confessed to have killed about 70 women- most of whom were married women. Shocking!
My sympathies are not enough. But ,at times,most times,actually,I stop to think what draws women to violence,like moth to flames? I mean I see some idiot physically abuse a girl. Yet,she clings to him,declaring that she can't live without him. I think it's instincts. This is when the animal takes over the mental and spiritual man.
I'm certain the signs of abuse ,in most cases,must have reared their ugly heads,either during courtship or early on in the marriage.But most of these women dismiss them as ing look-aways. Like the OP stated: he will change. Abs don't change! Either it's physical,mental or emotional abuse,once you spot it,run!

They were all victims of domestic abuse and they all suffered extreme physical violence in the hands of their husbands up until their deaths.

Growing up, I was told the reason many women stay in abusive marriages is because they don’t have their own money and they can’t run back to their fathers house….

in as much as i don't domestic violence against the woman or man........I think there is a place for patience and correction in marriage. Be it a man or woman, never see correcting as talking down from your spouse because if you wrong your spouse and you're being corrected, it's not equivalent to being talked down on. Also, patience is very important because without it, the house becomes a wrestling ground.

The truth is that some people don't know how to talk. They just open their mouth and talk anyhow in the name of correcting or giving advice.

I have witnessed a lot of advice given so rudely that it is better to not even give them in the first place.

And it is indeed also true that some people are overly sensitive. I know of a man who practically begs his wife before giving advice. My first relationship ever was with such a person. Overly sensitive that I would first beg her not to be angry before giving advice.

For me, I believe marriage is altogether a problem, especially in today's world where everyone is impatient and opportunities are very rare due to population explosion and dwindling resources. And I also think many people lack emotional intelligence. You see your spouse has had a bad day, and they are ready to explode. Instead of giving them some space, you get into a fight with them. It is a total lack of commonsense.

Everyone is JUST damn angry. And they get home (husband and wife) and just go at each other's throat over a small disagreement. A man who ordinarily would never have imagined hitting anyone will now beat the woman up, and the woman too, who grew up gentle as a dove will now hold on to her husband's shirt, shouting, "You must kill me today."

Some people will say "toxic masculinity" is to blame. But that is just a lazy way of looking at it. I don't believe that every wife beater grew up believing that it is OK to beat women. And there are men who don't beat women but who don't respect women either.

Take for example, a pastor who has the belief that if he is angry, he would rather not eat his wife's food than beat her. What this man does not know is that refusing to eat your wife's food is not a solution, but an escalation of the problem. It is, in fact, a form of abuse. Emotional abuse! You want to hurt your wife by not eating her food? How are you different from a man who hurts his wife with fists?

I have seen a woman who has walk away from four different men...I kept on wondering if its those men that have a problem or the woman,and also I have seen a woman who divorce a man for a reason best known to her, at the end of the day she end up doing what she refused to do in the previous marriage and she itted that she made a mistake. The truth is, two goat cannot marry.
