An apartment close to a church or even on the same street is a No No for me.

The last time I made that mistake in Kaduna i almost developed full blown high blood pressure because the pastor and choir will always be having one vigil or the other.I abandoned the rent and disappeared.

I am a very light sleeper,any noise at night and my sleep is over for the night.

Residing close to a Church can be so uncomfortable. The Churches around us believe that they have to scream, use loud speakers to speak to their gods. Makes me conclude that their gods are deaf. I will never rent a house close to a Church, never again.

You see MFM, Lord chosen and celestial church those ones will frustrate you if them be your neighbour

watin man go do...... Mountain of fire dey adjacent to my house, there is one up coming church in my compound (They don't make noise because they are still new and no musical set for now), and lastly C&S is beside my house very close to my window.

On Sunday MFM will start their fire fire fire from 7am till around10am. C&S is will pick from there till 4pm to 5pm at times.

I dey always enjoy C&S period shaa, because all through e go be like say I dey carnival.

Ha, I can never forget one Calabar church in my house it's a large compound there were 4 churches in total, but this Calabar church was directly in front of my room.

Thank God person don leave ghetto. Nothing like leaving in an estate.

If there are so many people against these noises in church, then who are the Nigerians going to church?

Too noisy

Not living close to a church though but something happened sometime last month.
Was rushing to meet the deadline for a project and haven't slept well in days. I finished around 2am that night and tried to sleep to wake up at 6.
It was 4:30 am when one idiot decided to play loud church music on his public address system before doing his morning preaching. I wan mad. Just small thing prevented me from opening my gate that night and confronting the guy....but

I tried to sleep again but couldn't. So I picked up my phone, searched for Bluetooth devices and saw a new device. I connected and heard a ding sound.
The new device was the public address system and looks like it s multipoint connection.
Don't even imagine what I did that night. I started by playing candy crush on my phone and all you could hear via the loud speaker was "sweet, divine, sugar crush" in th silence of the night.
The guy was probably confused. He had to poweroff the device and ended the morning cry. I bet he got the memo.
Disturbing people at 4:30 am. Wickedness

I didn’t care about bad roads as much as I cared about renting a house close to churches. It was the major thing I looked out for.

I live close to one. It is hell on earth anytime they have their services. But occasionally they provide me free comedy.

I years ago when my family house was next to a MFM church in the next compound.

Hmmm.... their night vigils was something else o.... Those mfm brethren can pray o

They way they clap their hands and sing for hours without tiring, it always amazes me

Me as a redeemed member, am used to gentle prayers, but these fiery hot prayer warriors can raise prayer points from 12am _5am without a quit notice.

I was never against their prayers o... Sometimes I do pray them once a blue moon, but the noise they generate often robbed me of a good night sleep

I only lived close to a church during my undergrad days.

Ironically, it was beneficial for me.

My primary church was a bit far away from my house, but there was an RCCG church sharing a fence with my compound.

It ensured that I never missed service (Sunday and mid-week) during my stay in that compound..

When I didn't go to my primary church, I only needed to wear a simple dress and stroll into the RCCG church.

It's one of the reasons I started desiring that my primary place of worship not be far from my home.

I'm lazy about going out, but I want to be consistent with physical worship. So the closer the better.

In 2010 when we visited Lagos, we stayed at the Rita Lori hotel in Surulere. There was a Church right across the road. They kept us awake all night with singing, clapping and bell-ringing.

It wasn't a great experience.

Same with me.I became a light sleeper after NYSC.I was surprised when my sleeping pattern changed after NYSC.Intially,I thought I was under a 'spell'when a very light movement or noise disrupted my sleep.

So I have colleagues.

There was one house I rented then when I began to work in Ibadan.

At first, there was peace. Then one church rented a building right in front of the house, and my problem began.

At first, every night was vigil. It was always so loud that you couldn't watch a movie even at the highest volume. Omoh, quickly I rallied youths in the area, and we complained at the landlord association meeting. So, the church reduced it to twice every week.

Still, it was hell. I had to park out eventually. Since then, I have made it a part of me to warn agents that I DON'T want a house close to a church every time I am house hunting.

We and this church were neighbors. But they stay in a different community, it was a small stream that divided our community and theirs.
Naso the pastor come meet my papa one evening like that o. He said he wants my father to pls not to fence the land close to stream so that his church can be able to cross easily to church instead of going through the long route which is more far.
My father agreed, but later after some times. This pastor started chasing people away from the land like it was his. Telling strangers who are not member of his church who tries to cross to his own community that the road is not a valid route. This man will chase them back forcing them to go back and follow the normal long route.
My father noticed this and challenged him that what right did he have to chase people away from through the land as if it was his.
As my father see say he won dey claim am naso he collect him land o say he go fence am so that everyone including his church won't that way again.

This rest na story oo as this pastor go nack my papa spell .
Na God save our family as I for don turn orphan by now.

Today as I am talking the church don scatter.

Lol!.Bro,it does not give one joy at all.

I currently live close to two churches. Indaboski's church and one other church I don't know their name. If you want to see me pissed, come to my house on Sunday morning.
The worst part is that that nameless church have a very bad choir. With their cracked voice and a very loud speaker, they will disturb the whole street till 1pm. Indaboski is a kinda sound proof, so you won't really hear them. I just need to move out.

Something very similar happened to me.

As a freelancer, had worked all night, finished around 3.30 and wanted to catch some much needed sleep.

4.30 and this man with a coarse voice and extremely loud PA decided to start his morning cry.

Worst part is that he directed the PA to my window. I wan mad that early morning. And I'm the type that gets a headache once my sleep is interrupted.

Note, I'm a very good Christian who s spreading the gospel, but this particular method of preaching the gospel is a no no for me.

I had a very useless day filled with headache and fatigue due to the preacherman's noise.

For deep sleepers,it is very okay,but for light sleepers,it is a war against their sleep.

Used to leave on a street with 7 different church on it.
Wetin pain me be say my co tenant wey get church too no go conduct deliverance for church. He will now bring is client to his apartment shouting at the top of his voice at midnight doing deliverance.
The man go just wake me up with cast and bind prayer. I de always vex but I can't confront him then because he is way older than me n I no wan report to landlord

I was living opposite a C and S church, once 11:30pm meet me on Friday night and I never sleep, high BP go start to worry me cause when they start their weekly vigils by 12.00am, no sleep for me niyen till 5am.

Their Sunday services that don't end till 2pm nko?

A long time ago, there was this brother who live by our church.
So once we finish night vigil I go branch him house to complete work.
