The question is, are they talking about the start date and end date of the program or events you are expected to have in canada. Can someone experienced shed more light to this please?

Hello everyone. I got ission for September 2022 to fanshawe college and I paid my tuition fee. So I’m trying to start the visa application. Please i need guidance on how to go about it and also my brother is my sponsor.

I have noticed here it takes alot of time for a study permit visa application to be processed in Nigeria.

Why is it so?.

Is it peculiar to Nigerians or Africans only?.

Because, when I did my biometric in Stockholm today. I asked the babe how many months to process my study permit application. She said 4 weeks maximum.

I also noticed they don't ask for medical and police report in EU.

Why are they giving applicants from Nigeria headache.

That was how one Canadian college (Name withheld) told me I don't meet their maths requirement (Even with my B.Sc. ing and M.Sc. Management), just because I got C6 in O' Level mathematics. If it were possible, I would have challenged them to a maths competition.

Just keep searching, I believe there are other schools without these requirements.

Masters in computer science is one of the most lucrative degrees right now, thanks to the growing power of computer technology, covid, and booming remote work and learning. Most 2 year masters have summer breaks. However, students often spend it writing their thesis or project. Considering how booming computer science is right now, I will focus on school and graduating rather than summer hustle.

To give you an idea why this is the best time to graduate and enter job market, I know a candidate with about 4-years experience and msc computer science from Nigeria. He is rounding up his PhD in computer science in Canada. His supervisor was delaying his graduation and he became PR while waiting for his thesis defence. Since he is a PR, he focused on applying for professional jobs and got multiple offers over $130,000 per year. He finally accepted one of about $140k.

In summary, get in and complete your program fast. Focus less on summer hustle, but feel free to do summer internship or student position in computer science related field and if allowed. Please check the program website. Fall 2022 is waitlisted and they should open January 2023 ission by March ending/early April. The program ission is competitive. So check the website and make sure you meet and gather its requirements if you are interested.

About masters, sure you will be able to use it to get masters ision as Bachelors degree is usually a requirement for that. However, you should not go for that striaght after you Bachelors. Get your 2-3 years PGWP and work. Canadian employers value experience more than education. However, they are more generous to fresh bachelor's and diploma graduate. Get the experience first and you can go back for your masters later. All the best.

Most masters and PhD graduate, particularly in humanities field, with zero Canadian experience will find it challenging to get a professional job after school. Diploma and bachelor's degree graduate find it easier because of many entry level position. For the masters and phD international student, there are ways to navigate the issue but you won't learn it in school. You will learn them from professionals outside school. So don't just study in school, network with Nigerian and non-nigerian professionals while you are in school. If you find one close enough to you, they might share the tips of getting a professional job in Canada.

I won't do it if i was a Nigerian aspiring to study in Canada because the field of mobile application development is too narrow and 1 year is a no no to me. These are just my personal opinions and reasons. You must have you own opinions and reasons for choosing the course. If they are convincing to you, then no problem.

It straight forward question… Just fill you are coming to Canada to study xoxo at xoxo Uni/College or do you have any other motive. So for the date, if your for September intake just put August since you can only travel one month before your resumption as per IRCC rules.
