My stuffs are listed on Jumia and for every sale I make, Jumia deducts a whopping 13% (for commission, tax, contribution to shipping, etc) of the gross sales. This is not even including the money you will spend at the VDO hub (for purchase of carton, bubble wrap and documentation printing) and the fact that Jumia will hold on to your money for as much as 2 - 3 weeks sometimes. I simply factored in all these into my pricing on Jumia. Something I sell for 53,500 on Nairaland here, I sell for 62k ok Jumia.

So, for every price you see on Jumia, deduct 10 - 15% to get the actual price in the normal market. Jumia prices ain't cheaper.

Well said. I do not know why people buttress their items meant to be on clearance sales rate with jumia and konga prices. Some may include AliExpress prices too once it satisfies their greed.

I was at Games mall in Abuja yesterday. Walking through the arranged goods there, I saw generator sets ranging from 140k and above to 950k. I just carry hand for head. Same generator sets are in the open market for less prices too.

I work for binatone appliances. Our goods are in Games mall and ShopRite, Spar, etc with very high rate. Same binatone is in open market with less rates.

One funny thing people failed to realise is that Binatone offers after sales service for both malls and open market.

If Binatone doesn't give me a certain appliance, I go to open market and buy it or another way around.

Now, I buy from panteka sef. Best for me.

They don't sell only scraps. You can get good household items from them as some people take their unused household items to them. You can get items ranging from wardrobes, chairs, blenders, stabilisers etc from them
