aribisala0:He did not win anything, it wasn’t Lagos State that seized his Father’s properties, The Federal Government under General Gbadamosi Babaginda gave him back some properties of Ojukwu Transport Company. Including the properties in Ikoyi Lagos State after much begging, just about the time he was chasing Bianca Onoh. Then Ojukwu was completely broke, e no even get money to pay children school fees. 1 Like |

revolt: Saro Wiwa is only a thief with no shame if he was actually posing in Ojukwu Father's property that he seized as claimed by the op. Otherwise, it is you and the op that are thieves. You guys just sit down and concoct stories to continue to feed the hatred that you have for other tribes while you expect them to love you. Was Saro Wiwa in a position to seize Abandoned properties? A lot of you are just so ignorant and don't even make efforts to educate yourselves. The last I checked, Abacha returned Ojukwu family propery located at forces Avenue PH seized by the federal government to them that even Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu appropriated to himself and refused to share with his siblings which caused them to sue him in court. Everytime you guys open threads that give you the platform to begin to insult and tell lies about other people and tribes. It doesn't help you in any way. 7 Likes 1 Share |

I'm sure if he hadn't written that book himself, you cantankerous lying yorubas would have claimed no single yoruba man took part in the coup you moronically tag 'Igbo coup'. Today you using statistics on the ethnic numbers of the officers and soldiers to deceive yourselves. Revisionist monkeys. 3 Likes 1 Share |

MikeBetty: That's what happens when there's no central leadership. Most of you don't know that Gowon went out of the way to destroy any semblance of collective leadership amongst the igbos. So much so that his government banned the igbo State Union, which was the umbrella body that chatted a purposeful political and cultural future for the igbos. Igbos with strong Igbo nationalist views were summarily dealt with and allienated from governance. Ultimately, imposters like Ukpabi Asika and crew took over and crafted a post civil war trend that prepared the igbos for greater presence outside igboland as the central government refused any serious investments in the East. Moving outside igboland became a survivalist alternative as a result. I guess it's time for such investments to be channelled back into the east. But the fact was that if the Igbo man refused to do so immediately after the war, his economic condition would have worsened.. 6 Likes |

adamsmith914: You’d do well to zip your hateful mouth so you don’t keep exposing your crass idiocy! Pray tell, what ‘suffer’ did ‘other tribes’ suffer in the Eastern Region under Igbos!? I guess you, more than 60 years later, have more facts and information than the Willinks investigative commission that looked into said allegations. Copies of the commissions findings have previously been posted on this forum! Nobody is saying things were perfect back then, but to come on here and suggest Igbos were oppressing, dehumanising, cheating and murdering other ethnicities in the region....such a suggestion is not only mischievous but outrightly wicked and disingenuous! What the Igbo, Ijaw, Ogoni, Ikwerre, etc, had in the then Eastern Region is El-Dorado compared to what we all are going through in the ‘liberated’ East that the Fulani, Yoruba and some daft, insecure ethnicities in the the Eastern Region bequeathed Nigeria! Shebi we’re now all living and ‘enjoying’ the alternative to Igbo ‘domination’....the ‘utopia and uhuru’ these anti-Igbos fought for! Hope you’re enjoying it!? In the early 60s....right up to the ill-advised coup and subsequent uncivil war, regions in Nigeria were developing rapidly....at their own pace, while using their own resources! The Eastern Region under Dr M I Okpara was then adjudged to be one of the fastest growing economies in the world! Even with the benefit of hindsight, you still persist in arguing the Igbo and political-economy of the then Eastern Region was ‘oppressive, detrimental and wicked’ to the other ethnicities in the region!? 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Tranquill:Saro Wiwa took over Ojukwu's father's property located at ABA road. Most of Ojukwu's father's properties are in Captain Amangala street. And for your information Saro Wiwa by virtue of his position in Gowon's regime influenced the abandoned property saga. On several occasions he was even cited with his then best friend General Sabi Abacha who was a Lieutenant then in Sir Lois Ojukwu property. These are some of the shameful dids we don't like to it. It's also worthy to point out that it is not only Igbos that suffered the abandoned property saga, alot of Ijaws lost their properties the state polytechnic in River state was owned by an Ijaw man it was seized from him because of his involvement in the war and till date no one has corrected this injustice. Incidentally, it was the same Abacha that gave back all those properties to Ojukwu after he overthrew Shonekan to buy Ojukwu's loyalty. You know the irony of everything? Igbos in no time bought back most of those properties from the thieves as many of them couldn't even maintain it. 5 Likes |

Putindbutt: Besides the issue Ikemba has with the federal government over his Dads property, i can’t say i heard of any abandoned property issue in the Western Region! But looking at the whole picture, one could equally argue Awo and other leaders in the west wanted to give the impression of being ‘fair and just’ to Igbos....which all rings hollow when you consider Awo had just been responsible for the starvation of thousands....if not millions of Igbo, and had ed the Fulani hegemony to wage war on a people fighting against ethnic-cleansing and islamofascism! This was the same Awo that had earlier declared Nigeria ‘a mere geographical expression’ and equally declared that ‘if by omission or commission the East were ALLOWED to secede, that the Western Region would japa as well (and i’m paraphrasing here)’! The Ijaw and others who rushed to appropriate Igbo properties were blind in their greed, and weren’t on to the divide-and-rulen tactics the hegemony and their southern ally (who decades later can now claim they didn’t seize Igbo properties in their region) were using to set brother against brother in the east! 2 Likes |
