My course start date is 17th jan and school is insisting i must be in the UK latest 16th after which i should not bother to come to the UK.

I did my biometric in abuja on the 30th and i intend to go ahead with online enrolment.

My question is what could be the worst case scenario if visa did not come out before 16th?

Will there be an issue at poe if i want to enter the UK after the 16th?

You will need to speak to your school international ission team. We can't tell you what to do if your school says another. You have to follow their instructions.

During my time international students were given the opportunity to attend lectures online but also given the opportunity to apply for student visa at their own time. This is due to the first lockdown and places were opening up although people were not comfortable traveling due to covid and uncertainty then.

The UK had to give students a grace period to come into the country because of the new PSW visa which was introduce then and they wanted lots of students to participate. Then you have to be in the UK before April or June cant . So lot of international students took their time then to move to the UK.

But now I can't say anything reason why you have to email or call your school and explain your situation.

Emirates don’t come to Naija rn, for Ethiopian airlines if you have to transit through you need a transit visa. Check Turkish, Qatar or British Airways

Thanks so much for your reply. He was able to travel as we realised the expiry date only 2 days before he was due to travel, so we couldn’t get a new one.

This question is very subjective. Most countries require your port to have at least 6 months validity to apply for a visa but the rule of validity at the point the port/visa is being used is not clear. I was in this situation in November and could not get a clear response even when I ed British Airways. A few people advised that since it was to enter the UK, I could use the port but I just decided to get a new port and was lucky to get it out in one week just before I travelled.

You are very right. He was only questioned at MMIA but since his return ticket shows he would be back 2 days before port expiry, they allowed him to board. At the border, no one asked about the port expiry. Thanks

u dnt need 6 months port validity to enter UK. My cousins came with nigerian ppt expiring in 3 months. Nobody asked them nothing about port validity at border.

Good morning guys, I'm trying to book a flight with Emirates and I saw I disclaimer that the flight is subject to Nigerian Govt approval, what does that mean? Should I still go ahead to book?

Secondly I checked Ethiopian air, to see if they are going to Birmingham, The flight I wanted has a layover at , do I need a French visa to be able to book it?
Please who has used Emirates or Ethiopian recently, help me clarify these questions

It depends on the time you have your test. If it's in the morning before 12pm, it's very possible you get it that day, all things being equal. Although there are usually delays sometimes, I did mine around 11 am on the day of my test and I got it the following day. I learnt they send every X-ray image to Kenya for analysis and report, so they try to have enough certificates at hand for a particular day before distributing.

I'm using a UK bank from Halifax Bank, with a balance of over 17K GBP. I got cas with the same , my tuition deposit was paid from the same . The first money lodged into the was lodged on the 30th of Sep. Last transaction was on Dec 14th, when my deposit was paid.

My question is, I'm looking to apply for visa this week, is it okay if I print from Dec 6th to Jan 3rd? Or does it matter if I print from Sep 30th that £15K was first paid into the ? It's my parents acct.

Also, is it mandatory that It's signed and stamped? It was printed electronically and it shows bank logo, acct number, address, date printed, balance and transaction charts.

To the best of my knowledge, there's no more physical Form A. All Form A are to be submitted online on TMS portal. It is true, this process is taking longer than the old Form A. The branch I used logged my request with the their head office on the 24th of December and I haven't been debited up till now, although I suppose the holiday added to the delay as well. If you have other means and a deadline to meet, I'd advise you don't use e Form A, too unstable.
