Hello Mr Achmed. Pls can u send a link for the NARIC of medium of instruction letter. Thanks
achmed1:

Depends on individual circumstance .

PTE turnaround time is the fastest, you get your results same day of the test (not sure how long it takes to receive the certificate or whatever). IELTS takes two weeks at least to receive results ( I had a bad experience with IELTS where my result was withheld for up to 4 or 5 weeks after the test).

Obtaining the medium of instruction letter depends on the school. I got mine (I attended Unilorin) within a week. My NARIC report was out in 6 working days.

For non-health professionals, you can only apply for the UK Skilled Worker visa. But first, check if your job/profession is eligible by navigating to the gov.uk site, as stated on the first post of this thread.

What's the duration of the level 3 diploma program you want to do?

Hello guys, my wife is a nurse and has a job offer already from a carehome as she has ed IELTS and CBT. We are waiting to receive documents requirements from the Care home so that CoS can be processed and issued. I would like to go with my wife same time, does my wife need to tell the Care home that she has dependents in the CoS or it comes automatically if you have dependents?

NB: I know I am to cover the cost of my flight and accommodation.

Dependents will be automatically covered in her COS as long as her earnings will be above 19,000 GBP. You just need to be patient till it's out.

Pls am currently in the pursuit of leaving this country.
A friend of mine who is a nurse in the U.K instructed me about what to do.
Though i have a degree in mathematics, but he informed me to come here as a home care giver.
He said i will need an IELTS,a Certification from the Red Cross (in first aid) and a port ,so he can process it for me.Thereby, securing me a COS from an employer..
After reading all d post Here, am confused because i saw TB test ,Naric, application fee and the rest.
Pls someone should guide me on what to do and the steps needed for dis because currently i can only afford to spend 500k in this processes ..
Or am still thinking on going tru msc but on a fully funded scholarship..pls how possible will my chances be.?

Perhaps your friend might have a special arrangement for you, since he's already into the system there.
However, according to the list of eligible occupations on the gov.uk site, Home Carer, which has the occupation code 6145, does not qualify for both SW visa and HACW visa. The closest eligible occupation to Home Carer is Senior Care Worker (ONS 6146) or Healthcare Assistant (ONS 6141).
TB test and NARIC/Ecctis certificate are required when you've already secured a CoS and are now applying for your UK visa. The latter is an alternative to IELTS certificate.

Honestly, I don't know. But if your friend is so sure of his idea, then anything is possible. There's no harm in trying - at worst you learn from the experience and make a better decision next time.

Hello, as you rightly said, you need to get a UK job offer first.

The training is for 3months with job placement for 3mths. Total of 3mths. If i have my diploma in healthcare worker and my COS, will i still be denied visa? There will be job experience of 3mths.

I haven't heard of a diploma program in Health and Social Care in Nigeria. But if there is, then go for it. Please do well to throw more light on how and where to do this program in Nigeria, so that others can learn.

When you've completed the training and have been certified, you can apply for UK Health and Social Care jobs. If, or rather, when you succeed in getting a CoS, I don't think the UKVI would want to deny you a HACW visa. Cheers.

I enrolled for specialist diploma in health and social care last year during lockdown. It is a city and guilds program that Dewdrops institute co ordinate. The reason I have not used it is because it is NVQ2. I wanted to use it for Canada home care pilot.

You can search the Occupational Shortage List: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/skilled-worker-visa-shortage-occupations/skilled-worker-visa-shortage-occupations

On a lighter note, why did you complicate your spouse's description when your name is simplesimple? grin Better Irony.

Nothing is bad with NVQ2..I may get HCA job with NVQ2 but I doubt I will be given visa. The least qualification for HAC visa is NVQ3. I am only buttressing the fact that one could get health and care training here in naija

It isn't a school per se, more like a training organised by a company. They're an agency for care workers, so they train us, and we get a diploma at the end of the training.

The training is about 6-8 months long, with placement and exams. So the duration depends on how well you do in your exams and placement.

After the training, you're offered a job with them in the UK, and accommodation for 3 months. After 3 months, you're expected to have found your foot and gotten an apartment.

OK, I get you. It sounds great that one could get a UK NVQ qualification in Nigeria. But isn't it possible for you to also get an NVQ 3 from the same institute where you got the first training? Can't they offer training and certification up to that level?
