Filmmaker Mo Abudu has announced January 1, 2022, as the release date for the sequel of the hit film Chief Daddy which would air on Netflix.

The filmmaker made the announcement in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

“Come January 1st 2022, the Beecrofts are returning with more family drama, more secrets, more laughs and even more fun and entertainment #ChiefDaddy2: Going For Broke,” she wrote.

Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau would also be ing the cast of the film, Igbere TV gathered.

Some of the cast like Dakorea Eguson, Patience Ozokwo, Kate Henshaw and Linda Ejiofor, also took to their Instagram s to express their excitement over the announcement.

Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, Chief Daddy part one grossed N40 million in its opening three days at the cinema according to the figures released by FilmOne Distribution.

The EbonyLife Films production also clocked the second-highest opening weekend for a Nollywood film in 2018.

A film about a flamboyant billionaire who dies suddenly, Chief Daddy features an array of Nollywood big names like Joke Silva, Taiwo Obileye, Funke Akindele, Kate Henshaw, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ini Edo, Dakore Akande, Falz and late Rachael Oniga.

KOB itself copied The Godfather nau. Compare the opening scenes where in Godfather, Don Vito Corleone hosts a massive party vs opening Scene where the KOB hosts a lavish opening party as well. Loads of other similarities are present in KOB

When there are too many super actors in one movie, there will be too many characters fighting for attention. At the end the viewers would be confused. That is the problem with the first Chief Daddy. Abhoringly boring. Now they want to bore us with more crap. Someone needs to tell Nollywood producers that using good cameras does not make good movies. Telling good stories the right way does.
