Hello y'all,

I'd like to inquire about the transportation in London. I'll be visiting the UK in a bit and would like to know more about the apps, I could use in booking different trips( trains, buses) within London and UK.
Also, how far is London city airport from Heathrow. Is LCY close to the city center?
Where can I possibly book a train from LCY to Heathrow?
Thanks.

I find Google maps more useful than citymapper and moveit. Google maps has the ability of showing you underground and overground platform numbers for trains which the apps I mentioned don't.

For tickets, thetrainline.com is the common place to go. Or simply google LCY to LHR for example.

In short, google maps to the rescue.

Transit visa is mandatory unless you hold visit visa for countries like US and Canada. Read up on both airlines website. I understand people from Nigeria have not been allowed to board as they are unaware of this requirement. The rules changed in January following the end of the transition period for uk's exit from the EU.

I believe this has also led to a spike in the number of people choosing to travel with the likes of Qatar.
You're right flying through an EU country with UK BRP or port requires a transit visa thanks to BREXIT!

You are exempted if you hold a British port. However, the exemption does not apply for UK visa holders including ILR holders

I recently arrived in the UK on a dependant visa. Please what's the best risk free investment, with reasonable interest for an initial investment of £20k.

I checked the banks bonds and some bank investments, their rates are horrible.

Any advise pls?

20k seems too small for a riak free real estate investment coupled with the fact that have zero experience on that. Crypto is entirely out of my option.

That amount is not small in the UK o grin

If you've got plans to buy a house at any point in the future and you are below 40 ATM, I'll advise you open a LISA (Lifetime Individual Savings ) ASAP and put in the maximum £4k now and another £4k by 6th April next year that way you get to maximise the bonus from 2 tax years within a calendar year. You'll get a maximum of £1k bonus per tax year that's %25 already aside the interest rate on the said . Your household can easily get £4k bonus if your partner also opens one and follow same steps provided you both meet the requirements for the scheme though.
For the balance, open a stocks and share ISA and invest the balance in some solid stocks if you are so inclined and if you can't pick out stocks yourself, choose an index or ETF like the FTSE100, S&P 500, etc instead.

Good Morning House,
I am here on a study visa with my spouse as dependant.
How can one get accomodation for a couple in Kingston upon Hull?
We are looking for a studio flat and most of them are either not accepting couples or fully booked on viewings.
6months upfront rent within reasonable budget is not an issue, but my naija blood needs to see what I am paying for.
Any s or tips on how to go about this is well appreciated.
T for Thanks.

Please is there a thread for non-health courses and non -tech. Seems everyone here is going to study in that field

Now someone is saying no job will sponsor any foreigner in the marketing field
for work visa

I will really appreciate anyone with experience and how they tackled this
did they have to move to another field totally?

Please help

Thanks

The impact of the bleeding is minimised when they buy an index fund or ETFs. It's the perfect strategy for portfolios diversification.

Don't buy single if you're playing long term.

Hello everyone, good job for the direction and clarity provided over the years.

I have a question on CoS. My employer provided my CoS over two weeks ago which I updated on my visa application. However, I was able to renegotiate my annual pay which led to my recruiter insisting that I will have to get an updated CoS to reflect my new pay before I can proceed with my application.

I am just wondering what will be the implication if I use the old annual pay as it is also above the minimum pay for tier 2 visa.

Wait for the revised CoS. Rushing it is the fastest way to have complications in the future. Be calming down.
