Just got a message to come for capture at Maitama Express port Center.

Anybody else received?

For people that have gone through DIY route. Is it a must you must wait until you receive a text message for your capturing before you can go for capturing after you have initially submitted your file for vetting. Or you can just go after a week for your capturing?
Anyone with help on this. Especially Alausa Ikeja

Akure doesn't require NIN

They requested for my NIN at Akure port office in April.

Thank you for your thorough and detailed overview of your experience. Please confirm if your application was for fresh port or renewal. Thanks. can the process be done in festac even if i selected ikeja online?
My Application is for a fresh port. No, you can't process at a different center other than the one you selected during application.

My DIY route experience....Festac Office
After being charged 50k by an agent and it would take six weeks to be ready due to the new policy according to him, i decided to go the DIY way...

1. Payment online of 26k (25k+1k charges fee)using the saana pay option on immigration portal.
2. payment receipt, Acknowledgement receipt, guarantors form and application page.
3. Certificate of Origin from my state liason office cost 3k with one port attached.
4. Took my already filled guarantors form to a magistrate court for stamp and seal. Cost 1k.
5. Guarantors port photograph just 1 was requested.
6. Original Birth certificate.

On getting to the immigration office i proceeded to servicom met an officer who assisted to arrange my documents in the following manner using servicom file i observed that it is quite different from other white files i do not know why tho ( please do go with originals as they will request to sight it and ensure you have no conflicting details such as name, DOB as it will cause you more delay):-

3 copies of payment slip, Application page, 2 port photography (applicant), 1 copy of guarantors port photo attached to the guarantors form, Datapage of guarantors port, NIN slip photocopy (applicant) Nin slip of guarantor not requested. He arranged all in the file and entered the details In a , and took me to another area where an officer vetted the documents, stamped behind the last document in the file and directed me to another officer who entered my details in another . Afterwards i was directed to another officer who checked again, entered details in her own , gave me a slip and asked me to come for capturing the next day.

I must say the officers are kind contrary to what i have read about them. None of them asked for bribe and the whole process was fast and easy. On getting to the NIS gate a lot of touts came and started telling me testimonies of their in house link and why i should patronise them but i didn't pay attention to any.

DIY Wayyyyyy.......

Day 2 ..... Capturing

I arrived the port office at about 9am, we were asked to stay in the waiting hall (special candidates and DIY) and people were been called as soon as their payment has been confirmed with all needed vetting and stamping. I was eventually called for capturing around 12:40pm we proceeded to the capturing area (strictly no mobile phones allowed) and capturing was concluded around 1:25... After capture i was given a number and asked to come for collection in about 4 weeks time.

All the officers are approachable and willing to guide and assist.

DO NOT WASTE MONEY.. ALWAYS GO THE DIY WAYYY.. It is time consuming but worth it i must add.

The Port Harcourt immigration office are frustrating.

My interview date was today.

I got there and was asked to submit the file upstairs and go

They said that I can't be interviewed today without any reason.

I don't even understand the whole process anymore.

I don't know whether to regret this online DIY method I used or what.

What was your experience if you did at Port Harcourt office.

This is for renewal not fresh.

And why do they need my old original port?

I need a 10 yrs port. Anyone that just had this done in Ikeja should Pls highlight all it takes to get it done for me.
I'll be appreciative.

Do you think a 10yrs paper is better or a waste of money to the 5yrs considering the stress of renewal for someone that travels like twice in a yr?
Skilla4life: 3:16pm On Jun 22, 2021
Please, is there any DIY here from PH. Am considering doing it myself. Please, your advice will be appreciated.

You supposed to have submitted your docs a week or some days to your interview date for proper and easy processing of your capturing. But since things are like this I will advice you check back tommorow.

Pls who knows anyone that can help collect port at Ikoyi. This is the 4th time I’m going and still they haven’t called my name. I was hinted that it’s ready but the officer has refused to search for it. And expects me to wait till they call thousands of names. Pls anyone that can help I don’t mind paying a token.

Submitted my (DIY) documents and application for fresh port last Thursday at port harcourt and was told by the officers that I should expect a text before I come for capturing despite my payment slip showing 21st of June. Thinking of going over tomorrow again. They explained that the dates given on the payment slip was not being followed.

What about renewal of expired port? Is DIY adviseable
It’s almost same process and same amount. If you are willing to wait for atleast 6months , no problem. But if you’re not in a hurry, my brother , just pay and get your shit done within 6 weeks

How much can one budget for it please

Just budget 80k for lost , like 50k for renewals . But if you are willing to wait forever. You can do it yourself with the official price

Hello house,

Please has anyone applied at Ilorin or Osun state port office? Will they follow the 6weeks timeline?

Thank you
