Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 (1573225 Views)
ShoeShineGuy: 12:26pm On Apr 20, 2021 |
joselekas: You can invest it in Stanbic mutual fund. The interest is small but can still negate the slide of the Naira to some extent. Moreso, you still have an excess of almost a million naira already so you don't have to worry about it becoming insufficient before it gets locked in. I did that (investing it) recently and I sent IRCC the update. However, if you can get a cheaper means of getting USD, it might be a better choice converting your Naira into dollars. To me, getting the USD at rates close to N500 in the parallel market is quite a rip-off honestly for such an amount as N8.2m. 4 Likes |

Hey guy. I calculated my husband’s Crs point as a single man and it is 456. Bsc+ masters +age 33+ IELTS I have just a bachelors and even if i ace my IELTS, i see no improvement in the score. Should he apply singularly? |
ShoeShineGuy: 12:51pm On Apr 20, 2021 |
zeb04: Calculating his CRS as a single man when he's married is a wrong thing to do. You can't apply as a single when you're married. You should simulate as spouse accompanying instead. Actually as a married couple, applying as spouse accompanying for someone over 30years doesn't work in the applicant's favour as there are points alloted to the spouse which if excluded, will lessen his CRS points the more. The way forward for you now, if he must be the PA, he needs to either learn French or look into PNPs if his NOC is in demand. And if you're way less than 30years, he has to hand you the baton. Then get one more certificate in addition to your BSc and ace IELTS (least score of LRWS = 8.5 8 7.5 7.5) while your husband shores up your CRS with his ECA and IELTS as 2° PA as you similarly would if he was the PA. The process is a whole lot more complicated than I just put it. Please read up more on it on Page 1 of this thread. You'll be glad you did. All the best ma'am. 4 Likes |

zeb04:Kindly note that you can't calculate score as a single person when you are married. What you do is simulate your score with spouse unaccompanying which to me doesn't make sense since you will still have to show POF for the number of your family. You can write IELTS and evaluate your degree along side your hubby's score. What will be your CRS score if you both write IELTS and evaluate your degrees. Also how many years experience do you have? 1 Like |

ShoeShineGuy:. Hello thanks for the reply. Although i am 27, i can’t be the PA right now. Even though i am currently running my masters, i wont be done until march next year. I will look into the Pnp because he is opposed to writing french. If he includes me as accompanying right now with just a Bsc, it will reduce his crs score to 443. @prettiepearlz |
amaya21: 1:19pm On Apr 20, 2021 |
Have you checked your own CRS with just a Bachelors and your years of work experience? zeb04: |
phabulous88(m): 1:58pm On Apr 20, 2021 |
zeb04: Without you he is 456, with you accompanying he is 443; based on the last FSW draw (468), either score is still low to get an ITA now. The options are: (a) either of you to write the French exam (in addition to the IELTS) or, (b) he waits until you complete your MSc, and then you be the PA. Thankfully, you're 27 and have 2+ years before you start loosing 5 points. Don't feel guilty because you only have a BSc now. With or without you, his scores are still low to get him an ITA. Your age gives you an advantage. If he decides to apply alone with his 456 and he's lucky to get an NOI from any province, by the time they complete processing his PNP application and he jumps into the pool, you should be done with your MSc. |

zeb04: zeb04: Another option......while you also look at PNP. YOU could be the PA and learn French if he is not interested in another language. A Masters will add approx 39 CRS points to you and French can potentially augment that.... even if you don't get the 50 bonus points... ...French will put you comfortably in the 510 range if you do get the bonus points in addition to your MSc. It will open you up to FSW and several PNPs as well. You could do both together...MSc and TEF...and achieve A LOT by March next year....women are very good at multitasking! Banjip: Congratulations. This shouldn't be a problem, as they are aware EE profile expires. Since your application details are still the same, just the EE number and Job Seeker code that will differ, then you should be fine. Please what was your score when you submitted Manitoba EOI? 1 Like |

This French thing no easy abegi! Tried learning it. It's tough! My current CRS is 450 with spouse (Bsc only, and not really keen). I'm PA, but have lost a lot of points due to age: 38. Just looking for a way through this stuff. I've got no relation in Canada. My score would have been far less than 450 , if I hadn't a Ph.D! I wish I listened to my friends and applied for this EE thing immediately after I finished my Ph.D. 8yrs ago! ![]() I was procrastinating and hoping Nigeria would get better someday! Now, see what my patriotism has caused me! ![]() 7 Likes |

Saynoomore: Definitely not easy......no one tries to pretend that it is.....it may mean taking the TEF exams multiple times. If people give up because of cost, I can totally understand, but to say "languages are not my strong point".....I don't buy that at all, at all. Many things in life are tough and we plough through because of the end result. E easy to carry another human being for 9 months?? E easy to wake by 4am and reach house back 11pm?? E easy to dey work and no collect pay after 6 months?? My thinking is that the people who are taking and ing TEF exams after 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 attempts (yes some people have done it 5 times!) don't have 2 heads......the fact that we even attended Uni and came out with a BSc (even 2:2 or 3rd class) means we can apply ourselves to learn. To be fair though, we are all different and want different things in life......for some people Candaian PR is a good to have (if it happens, great..... if not, great).......for others "they die there"........those are the ones that will not give up. Me, I will continue to loud French & tell as many people about it. It may not be your cup of tea, but please na God I take beg you, don't discourage others. Please I am not a tutor o and I don't have a school...Alliance Francais and IEF are your sure plugs! GraciousWords: Your onition is encouraging, albeit harsh in a way! My comments were not targeted at dissuading or discouraging anyone! If anything, the desire to have the option of a PR in a developed world is not only gratifying, but worth fighting for, especially when one considers the current torrents of political, social, and economic quagmire our Leaders have plunged us into! I guess I just have to take this TEF bull by the horn! Merci beaucoup! ![]() 12 Likes |

Lotusgoddess: Sorry, it will end in praise. We were there thrice, only one changed. Honestly, it's one of the numerous lows in this journey. As long as you're not losing points in, at least, the next one year, I'd advise you just relax and hang in there. You'll be surprised before the year runs out, ITA will be yours. Cheers! 6 Likes |

amaya21: We (I'm the principal) are claiming 15 points for my wife's sibling. We have submitted all the required documents - sibling's PR Card, Citizen Certificate, DOB, Mortgage statement - to our claims. Does she need to also include her DOB? And if yes, can she use the recent one from National Population Commission dated 2008 (meanwhile she was born in the 80s) or we can use the old one issued when she was born? Please seniors help me clarify this. I am submitting it today. Thank you all. 1 Like |
