I would advise you go for a Big 4 firm.
The knowledge and exposure you will get is far better than what an investment bank would offer you.
that the Big 4 have clients in different sectors and cities across Nigeria. The pay may not be fantastic, but the long-term benefit is great. But you have to be ready to write and either ICAN or ACCA.
A 5-10 years experience in a Big 4 could catapult you to work anywhere in the world.
I know about 10 people from Big 4 firms who now live and work abroad, and were employed directly from Nigeria.

Investment banking would be great if only you write and the CFA exams. But Nigerian banks are never reliable so you still have to work and pray that you don't get retrenched and laid off.

The solar doesn’t charge my laptop directly. The solar charges the inverter.

Assuming the battery is working 100% perfectly (it can't do that by the way)

- 12v @12AH -> 144wh

- Laptop 65w running 40 mins -> 43.33wh (less than half the inverter battery capacity, also for some inefficiency losses)

- The inverter probably shutdown at a cut off voltage to prevent damage and didn't actually run to zero (even though you couldn't use it)
- Are you exaggerating the short runtime with the laptop alone? You should get more runtime with this calculation
- Don't bother plugging that fan, inverter is likely a modified sine-wave, fans like pure sine-waves
- Inverter noticeably draining the battery without plugging anything means it has a high idle consumption (this consumption is also taken out of the battery and contributes to why you can't charge the laptop for long)


In short, you've wasted money on a badly designed and built device. If you have the option to return it, do so, up your budget, go to the nairaland fta / diy solar forum and ask for "sapa solar / inverter setup"

Now back to your Load
Your Fan is a 65W
Your laptop is 95
Total is 160W. This is more than the inverter capacity(150W). That is an overkill. U are lucky your inverter no blow.

Now comparing your battery (144WH) to your total loads (160W)
This is why your back up time does not last up to an hour

Let's do the maths
144WH/160W gives us 0.9Hours = 54mins. This is the best u can get from your battery

NOTE and ADVICE
Don't connect a load more than Inverter capacity

I didn’t connect both fan and laptop at the same time.

With laptop(65W) alone, It lasts only 40 minutes which should be at least 2hrs by calculations.

If I’m to buy external battery, to last me at least 3 hours, I’ll need 200WH. But how many (V) and (AH)?

Let me break it down for you
1. Your One 18V 30W:
Means that if the efficiency is 100%, as long as the sun is up, the maximum load it can carry is 30W between 9am and 5pm (8 Hours)
If there is no NEPA (Mains Electricity), it means you can use 60W of power for 4 Hours OR 120W for 2 Hours
2. Your battery capacity of12V 12AH Lead-acid battery
Mean that at full capacity, it can store at 100% efficiency 144W of Energy
it means that at best you can use up to 144W of Energy for 1 Hour OR 72W of Energy for 2Hours
3. Your Inverter of 220V 150W.
Mean that at 100% Efficiency, you cannot plug loads up to 150W without blowing up the inverter. This is the maximum power you can draw from it if your battery capacity will allow it.

Now, you are driving it with a load of 95W OX fan
Laptop at 65W

Let me shock you that the efficiencies of solar that is properly optimised is less that 50% from the rating
Your Battery can have 80% Efficiency only when brand new, as you use it (especially when overloading it) the efficiency can drop to 40%

So, don't use your inverter for your fan or laptop, restrict it to giving you lights at night.
Don't even bother augmenting with extra s or batteries because it will still waste your money



Recommendation: Even though costly
1. Two Deep cycle Batteries of at least 200AH capacity
2. Three to Four Solar s
3. Charge controllers rated for the four s with a power not less that 1200W
4. Inverter (Sine Wave) of at least 1500W (Much higher is better)
Less is a waste of investment

I bought it for close to 200k and it’s not working as intended.

So I bought a Cafini inverter that can be charged with solar s and also AC power. It has radio, led light and 12V 5W bulbs(4 bulbs)
The is 18V 30W(1 ).
The inverter output is 220V 150W.
The battery capacity is 12V 12AH Lead-acid battery.

I started using it by plugging my laptop(65W) to it. Within 40 minutes, it ran down from 100 to 0.
I unplugged the laptop and plugged my power bank to it. I also plugged one of its bulbs to it. It finally died after a little over 2hrs of it being on 0.

I charged it with AC power and plugged my OX fan(95W) to it alone. The fan was struggling on level 1 and was making sound, I had to disconnect it.

The seller said that’s the capacity of the battery and it is normal. If I wan’t it to last a longer duration, I should buy a external battery of a higher capacity.

Please with what I observed, is the draining normal? The battery percentage was draining by just switching on the inverter and not plugging anything to it.

Late last two weeks, someone who DM'd me from Nairaland here invested $5k, he showed me when that reached 6k four days ago.

Try to confirm their certification and licenses online.
Try using their AI signal outside of the platform.
Try confirming the date they claimed they started and try seeing if anyone ever ed that year.

We have seen amazing projects and initiatives by corp in their PPAs or communities, through them less privileged villages or individuals are assisted with basic necessities e.g borehole, schools, medical outreach, skills acquisition.
The people you meet during camp and outside camp most times very vital after service, back in the days corp are seen as leaders hence, people follow you as you command respect.
